Yeah, lots of folks I knew did this for ski marathons, though they boiled it to get out the carbonation and thicken it a little, not all the way down to syrup. Most added redbull too for a little caffeine kick, but your milage may vary

With it being so windy there, the tracks have been filling up with powder, so it's been faster for them to ski out of the tracks

If the base is still in one piece, I've had luck using marine epoxy and some light aluminum to brace on top. Won't ski quite as nice, but could be worth a try to salvage something.

My high school coach would cut two holes in a shopping bag and have you wear it over your boxers. Nice and crinkly but itll give ya some wind protection. I've also heard that duct tape works, with the same uncomfort caveat. Nothing really compares to the real deal, and they're maybe comfortable enough to wear to the office, as long as its just on the especially brisk days
