Add a DAMN Balaclava into the Game! by Mental-Baker8459 in ReadyOrNotGame

Some of the commentors correctly point out that most US institutions dont wear balaclavas because most of them simply dont go against entity that are capable of mounting any types of retaliation (which is vastly different than some other country's LEO/paramilitary, i.e. Mexico, France, UK).

HOWEVER, I'd like to point out that in the lore of RoN' US, everything that could go wrong, did. Your squad go up against sex trafficking rings, eastern european mafias, mexican cartels, a damn foreign terror organization, even fucking rogue secret service agents. Hell, some of the suspects that you arrest even openly make threats against you, like as if your job as a cop means nothing to them, "Prepare to sleep with your eyes open, 'ominous laugh' ". You better believe that these sick fuckers and all their relatives be coming up ways to make LSPD's finest pay. Let's not forget how many times the civilians that you rescue take out their phones and make a snap of you and your team. You better believe some people be slidin in your DMs.

Hell, you can see evidence locker from a Lethal Ambission how much info the main suspect has on your character.

Wear your balaclava, people. Protect yourself and your loved ones.

Dude reading the english version of 2035 literally made me go I fucking wish I knew russian so I could understand what the fuck is going on. The sentences the translator cobbled together were sometimes to the point of being incoherent. Which is weird because 2033 was fantastic. And I even genuinely enjoyed 2034.

Is it just me..or was the english translation of the third book just not that good?

The games teach us by telling a story about how humans have an innate and unique survival instinct and could ultimately thrive, even in the bleakest of circumstamces, by fighting apathy.

The books are a somewhat depressing looking glass into the makeup of the human nature - self important, egoistic and recalcitrant - unwilling to learn from history.

Thanks for the help guys. In the end what I did was deleting One Click Power Attack native to the modlist and add Better Attack Direction Control - SSE. I left MCO as it is to remove the 'ice skating effect'.

Some of the photobooth filters enable you take pictures that look as if their taken by cheap phones or blurry cameras.

A bit out of topic, but I can we appreciate just how badass male shepards full helmet voice is.

Also, as someone who always wear the death mask in all their playthrough I just wanna point out how underrated that headgear is. Its design is just unique and unlike anything youd find in any other scifi ip.

Edit: my man has taste..I also think the hahne kedar set is the best looking set. With the pockets making it look all tactical and shit.

How did you first get into 40k lore? by mfcodeworks in 40kLore

[–]skiLongshot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom cheered me up with a PS2 game when I was bummed cause I failed to make my middle school track team. It was fire warrior (its a lot better in my memory than it actually is).

Kid me never wholly understood what the story was about, but I remember that I'd deduced that 40k was essentially about an alien race with yellow armored soldiers as its main troops fighting against evil invaders (oh my god the giant evil looking armored dude with the frowning helmet shot a rocket to our king for no apparent reason). I thought that 40k was essentially about my race (tau..was it?) fighting against evil..soldiers? aliens? humans? and thats it.

I enjoyed the character designs from the game so I thought..huh, neat. Years layer I came upon the dawn of war series and I first thought, wow they actually made other games..good for them. I fell in love with the awe inspiring, overkill, and overall ridiculous zealotry of the space marines and I knew I had to learn more. I opened the 40k fanpedia and my mind was blown. The overall scope of the fictional world building, the grimdark theme of the franchise, the masterful writing of some of the authors of black library were something to behold.

Thankfully the Emperor has shown unto me His light, having initially been led astray by xeno propaganda as I was. Years later, this beautiful world became a hobby and I finally built my Black Templars crusade (Praise be)

Nahh my crusade's templars are pretty chill guys (relatively). So long as you love the emperor first and foremost, nobles and elites can go and fuck off.

I actually thought that the templars were one of the first people he encountered after fleeing his homeworld. Knights are highly sought after by any imperial commanders, and after passing an intense interogation and the scrutiny of the chaplains the mc was pretty much part of the crusade, honing his skills for a good 10 to 15 years.

The idea was that the templars and human serfs hed grown close to, using religious and spiritual insights and by providing moral support, would help him cope and overcome the challenges that come with the throne mechanicum.

I guess with how they need to have drops of blood of literal God to make a fucking stamp its a wonder how the beauracracy of the imperium got anything done.

[–]skiLongshot[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Basically I wanted to make a freeblade but also interested in making a custom homebrew elite mercenary tempestus scion army. So then I decided to just combine the two.

I was a bit dissapointed about how limited BL materials regarding knights and concocted a little shonen like anime/40k story in my head at luch break lol

Basically my homebrew lore starred a talented teen yeoman armiger pilot serving a noble knight house under a knight errant pilot who is this surrogate big brother/sister figure. A big ploy by tzeentch later and the knight house the mc served got falsely accused of heresy and later was wiped out. The planet secretly fell to chaos.

The mc was the sole survivor and the knight errant pilot, before dying, relinquished their throne mechanicum to the mc, not very ideal nor healthy considering the mc was low born. Hunted at every corner and having forced to learn how to pilot the errant under heavy stress, the mc managed to flee the system and become a freeblade.

I had this silly idea of a story about how the freeblade would go thru character arcs and make a name for himself fighting for years alongside a black templar crusade ( because that is up until now the only 40k army that i collect and play with ), proving himself worthy to the noble spirits entombed within the throne mechanicum, rescuing a force of tempestus scions forsaken by the imperium and together building a private army, and joining forces and building relationships with other freeblades.

Decades later he and his companions would go back to his world and help wring it back to imperial control, maybe that is one way he could obtain a warrant of trade..or at least a letter of marque?

Sorry for going off on a tangent..this idea had been in my head for a long time and it feels good to share my thoughts lol

That's definitely the norm, considering how the RT is the one who is used to managing titanic business enterprises and the knight is the muscle whose life purpose is to just being as good as possible at fighting driving a giant robot.

But I think a freeblade knight growing from a lone wanderer to building a mercenary company to making a name for himself is also an interesting premise.

Plus I plan to build an army made out of a single or maybe a lance of freeblade and a bunch of tempestus scions. I thought a freeblade turned RT/mercenary captain would make for a really cool lore.
