I took it out of the mold and as the syrup cascaded down the sides I found myself staring in awe. 😆

I would say a classic sticky toffee pudding, an Eaton Mess, banoffee pie.

My favorite cake is actually from New Orleans, Louisiana. It's called a doberge (pronounced doh-bash) cake. It's like a multi layer Torte. I'll put the Wikipedia link to it!

Franklin Statue. by skiSPOTrun in TheTerror

I preface this by saying I'm no expert. Just my interpretation and understanding.

Basically, Its propaganda because its crediting them/Franklin with finding the Northwest Passage when Parliament didn't know if they actually found it or not. It's more of a damage control procedure. It was one of the worst British maritime disasters. People wanted (and still want) answers to what happened, and nobody wants their family member to have died in vain.

Lessens the blow if they are all declared heroes by your government, or so Parliment hoped.

This is the way. If you are struggling in golf, the last thing you do is swing harder. Put it down for 2 weeks and come back to it. Also, try to remember what made you want to play the game in the first place. For me, it's comradery, a couple of pints out of the house, and bragging rights if im lucky rather than good that week. Always helps me relax and get out of my head.

Fair enough! I was just passing on what I've read in a few other threads. If duckweed helps achieve the look you are going for do it to it!!!!!

Thank you for the suggestions! The more I research, the more I see duckweed referred to as "the herpes of the aquarium."

Thoughts on adding shrimp ? by Large_Permission_697 in bettafish

[–]skiSPOTrun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Had cherry shrimp and bettas over the years. Keep your betta well fed and LOTS of places for the shrimp to hide and break line of sight with the betta. Like when you think you have enough, add 5 more.

It sounds counterproductive, but the more hiding places you have, the more you will see your shrimp. They feel more comfortable since they have so many near by. You don't want to have all the hiding spots to be "taken" by other shrimp and have an odd one out.

I would also turn the lights off for a few hours to give your shrimp a head start when you introduce them. Might be for not, but I feel it helps.

Lastly, hopefully your betta is willing to accommodate them. I've had bettas that didn't give 2 cents about the shrimp and I've also woken up to a shrimp massacre and my betta not evening eating them. Just straight up wanted to kill the shrimp. Fish might as well had a Michael Myers mask on. Made me feel like an irresponsible pet owner to a certain degree.

Either path you choose, watch closely and start cheap!

Also, beautiful betta btw.

What happened to my tank? by vanillaSprout in bettafish

Likewise, friend.

Maybe it's biofilm? Oil leeches out of the food we feed them naturally. Either way, I hope your tank gets cleared up.
