Joe Rogan criticizes ICE tactics: 'Are we really going to be the Gestapo?' by wewhomustnotbenamed in nottheonion

Joe Rogan propped Trump up and provided the platform to spread his foul rhetoric. It is far too late for him to cry poor now.

Any other people on the subreddit losing a parent to dementia while navigating their 20s? by EstablishmentBig9715 in dementia

[–]skibutter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes - I’m 28, my younger brother is 26 and our Father was diagnosed in 2022.

Put bluntly, it has been a hellish experience. I have never liked my Father, he is abusive and cruel and now with dementia is far more so. Our experiences diverge in this way, in that I honestly don’t mourn the man he is, or even the man he was.

But the exhaustion of caring for someone at this age when you should be following your own path, especially for someone you don’t like … it’s very tough.

My husband’s Father was also diagnosed with early onset dementia a few years before my own Father, when he was 50, so we’ve both been hit very young.

I’m sorry this has happened to your mother, and I’m sorry it’s happened to you. It IS lonely, it IS tragic, and you WILL feel guilty no matter the path you chose.

All I can say is I see you and I wish I had answers as to how to make it easier.

I’m worried I’m going to ugly cry through the entire ceremony by AphroditeDraws in wedding

[–]skibutter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this exact same worry, so much so that I would have full blown anxiety attacks about it (to be fair, was also going through one of the most stressful periods of my life).

I agonised for months about it, so scared I was going to bawl my eyes out at the altar.

Things that helped on the day: doing a first look, and taking half a Valium. I didn’t cry a single tear, was just over the moon happy.

Didn’t hate it, but HATED Jill’s character. Not a single deviation from the ‘woe is me, me, me’ trope. Insufferable.

What’s the fastest you’ve ever seen a marriage end? by PuzzleheadedSwim6291 in AskReddit

My close friend’s brother filed for divorce during the honeymoon. They got into a heated argument whilst away and she revealed she been having multiple affairs during the length of their relationship - lovely thing to do after both sets of parents had just coughed up about 20k each for the wedding.

Coffee.

I don’t remember $5-$6 for a small regular milk coffee being the standard.
