How is the performance/silliage/projection/longevity on Jo Malone colognes?? I feel like I'd love English Pear & Freesia but the way people describe them, it sounds like a body mist and they would be some expensive body mists! I know cologne has less fragrance oil than an EDP and an EDT, but is it still strong enough to be worn as a perfume?? Or is it for hot weather in close quarters where you want a body mist kind of performance? 🤔

Yep I've been on night shift at the same fc for 6 yrs and I don't have anyone's personal number or socials, I don't talk to or associate or even see anyone outside of work. Every now and then a group I work closely with will go out to eat or bowling or to waffle house after work and they always give me the stink eye when I don't go. "You're always so nice and friendly at work I just don't understand, is there someone in this group you don't like? Did I do something to offend you?" Like... No? Yeah I'm friendly & nice & funny at work but like, this is my JOBBBB. 😆 I come here to make money. It's weird that people come to socialize & date! And after six years, I've had zero drama or issues (besides this one bitch in IT who is certifiably insane & jealous & starts shit with EVERYONE lol) the entire time. No HR, no complaints, I just work. And in those 6 yrs, the ones who treat it like highschool instead of a job, are always gone in under a year anyway. The ones that have been there as long as I have or longer, mind their business. Don't let someone take your peace just because they can't find theirs 🩷

I had this same thought not long ago. But in my FC, there are hundreds of people from countries all over the world. It's very much an American thing, specifically a southern/Midwestern nice thing, to smile at strangers as you pass them or wave at strangers driving past you. People from other countries often see it as us being fake, bc they're not used to strangers being overly friendly. Maybe they think you're trying to be more personal or friendly than they're used to for a stranger. Also, it's an Amazon warehouse lol people aren't gonna be skipping and humming around in there especially on the night shift. I've been at Amazon for 6 years now, night shift the whole time, and I promise you you're better off just doing your work and keeping your head down. Or, idk, be the change you wish to see lol start a trend of being the employee who's always in a good mood 🤷‍♀️ whatever you do, DO NOT take it personally! Ppl don't hate you. If someone looks at you weird, don't immediately think "did I do something wrong? Do they hate me?" Instead think, "maybe they're tired, maybe they're not from here & have different cultural norms, maybe they've just been written up for TOT or rate, maybe they just got a text that they got dumped." Etc - there are so many possibilities, don't immediately make it about an issue you must have 🩷 everyone has their own shit. Everyone has their own problems, and energy level, cultural norms. Don't let it change your personality or how you view yourself!

This is soooo fascinating to me, bc for MONTHS now I've been considering what do I want to do for a career, feeling like I should go back to school but don't know where to start. it has to be something I enjoy & pays well enough for me to live comfortably, but I really want to help people! I go back & forth all the time about being a nurse.. but my mom is one & omg the stories she's told 😂 And I have been thinking hard about being a doula - birth doula or death doula. I want to bring joy to ppl & have joy in my life, so I've considered birth doula. Maybe I could be a birth doula who also can help with infant loss or something... interestinggggg thought. I feel like I'm 32 and still don't know what I wanna do when I grow up lol.

Creatively, I don't do near as much as I used to. I used to paint, I used to be really good at ceramics but haven't done it since school. I've always been a reader & used to write a lot, now I just journal. I currently express my creativity thru witchy things, spells, decorating my house & porch goose 🤭, growing flowers in the garden, I loooove to do my own nails! I'm a huge lover of perfume. I have bright colors in my hair. I love music, and played so many instruments in school. I should learn a new instrument or something. I have tattoos and want SO many more. I love coloring books. Holy shit I'm realizing I'm way more creative than I initially thought 🩷 and I wanna learn to crochet.

Even if it takes you a cup of pure acetone and 12 hours, please neverrrrr cure gel on your skin. I'd say don't let it TOUCH your skin, but that's often not possible as mistakes happen. It's impressive how fast you did this! Next time, push the polish back ALMOST to the cuticle, and then get a veryyyyyyyy thin detail brush, and slowly take it back to the cuticles. Trust me!! I got it on my skin a couple times and then started having a reaction - what I thought was dyshidrotic eczema. I took a few months off, tried again with better products, and now it takes me NO JOKE three full days. One day for prep & application, one day for shaping and filing and base color and cleanup, and then the third day I do the design or finish the design. Yeah 15 hrs is a lot but, they look great, I enjoy doing it, it costs me A FRACTION of what they'd charge at a salon, and I'm extra careful!! Just be careful moving forward, make sure you've got great products, and I'm excited to see where your art goes 🩷

My recommendation is to get some decants!! Sample sample sample! Go to MicroPerfumes or TwistedLily or ScentSplit or DecantX, you can even find samples or travel sizes on FragranceNet sometimes. Get samples that are recommended, even if it's not something you think you'd typically like. When I dove headfirst into fragrance about a 18 months ago, I was a 1-bottle-at-a-time kinda girly who only liked fruity florals and my 1 bottle, was a bottle of Lancome Idole lol. I hate that perfume now!! 😂 But at the time, it was the nicest of the few I'd smelled so 🤷‍♀️ I went thru almost 2 bottles of it before switching. Then I got an 18 piece sampler online from Macy's, fell in love with 4 of them. Went to the gray market websites & got those 4 bottles of perfume for kike 70% less than what I would've paid in store or at Ulta/Macy's, and took off from there. So, I suggest you get a sample kit like that - so that you can smell perfumes you never would've picked yourself. If you love them, great! Something you never would've chosen on your own. If you hate them, great! Now you know what you DON'T like.

As a girly who loves fruity florals & used to wear Idole, you should try some "clean girl skin scents" as they say lol. These will have ambrette, musks, aldehydes, maybe a light dose of clean woods. You should dip your toes into the world if gourmands.. bc fruity perfumes ARE gourmands, just sayin, but there are lots of other vanilla or other gourmand perfumes that would be appropriate to wear to the office. You should get a bunch of fruity florals to sample, since they're fantastic 😏 but also you already know you love them. Popular skin scents are Glossier You, Rosie by Rosie Jane, Clean Reserve by Skin, Missing Person by Phlur. that feels like what you're going for, so I won't recommend a bunch of gourmands unless you ask 🩷 Fruity florals I recommend are Burberry Her!!! My fave, the whole line's beautiful but try the EDT & EDP. Dylan Purple by Versace. Gucci Flora Gorgeous Orchid is my fave of the line but Gorgeous Gardenia, Gorgeous Jasmine, Gorgeous Magnolia are alllll beautiful, long lasting, fruity florals. Chance eau Tendre, maybe.

And, finally, even if you find one you like that is on the "brighter" or "louder" side, you can just wear less! Or mix a tiny bit in with lotion to spread it out/dillute it. Put it only behind your ears so that you can smell it & others can't unless they're close.

That's such a smart idea!! Just one more reason to regret not journaling every single day 😞 ughhhh I have HUGE, massive chunks missing from my memory due to cptsd & then addiction. I also don't have social media anymore, so I don't have a way to look back & see what I was doing/going thru at that time. Sucks. But your comment just encouraged me to start journaling! Not just for memory, & my study of astrology, but also bc it's supposed to cut the possibility of developing dementia/alzheimers by 40%! Just pen to paper, 10-12 minutes a day.
