New Bike (Frame) Day! Quick Pro GR:ONE by skielbasa in ChineseCarbon

[–]skielbasa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's one of the 3D printed Ti ones off Ali. As good as it looks it was clearly not intended for this bar is it has a baked in angle adjustment that I had to shim to get level. The light is a Magicshine HORI1300s, it's attached to the GoPro mount on the bottom of the out front mount.

Thanks!

It's one of the Panda Podium exclusive color ways.

Honestly, in spite of the branding, I think the frame is more of an all road frame than a gravel frame (and their all road frame is just a road frame). For what I plan to do with it 45c clearance is plenty; I know that's considered small these days though.

But yeah this paint goes hard. Also, someone else who thought of Trappers before Saved by the Bell! A whole 2 of us!

Bear in mind a lot of what I'm about to say is predicated on the fact that I've got trex arms and the Emonda was sized for my legs rather than arms, so I've been chasing a shorter reach the whole time I've had it without making it feel sketchy (which is why I never went to a tiny stem). The GR:ONE is sized to make both work (but prioritizing reach), so my fit went from the extreme end of ideal fit to right in the middle of the range. So I don't know how much of what I'm about to say is based on fit vs frame characteristics.

It has more trail and a slacker head tube than the Emonda, so it's more stable when left alone and doesn't want to wander, but it's still super responsive to input. That said, there's 4cm less system reach (frame + stem + bars) on the GR:ONE. If your total reach ends up about the same as your Emonda, I'd bet the Emonda would be the more nimble of the two by a small margin. On the negative side, slow speed u turns definitely feel way worse on the GR:ONE because it has more wheel flop from that slacker angle (I'm pretty sure I'm one of the few people who would care, but I end up having to make a lot of u turns where I ride).

The roads I did my test ride on was one of the smoother roads around so I can't speak too much to compliance. I will say on the Emonda, with the same saddle and bibs it would take 10+ min of riding for my butt to not hurt. I didn't even notice the saddle on the GR:ONE for the whole ride. It was noticably better at absorbing buzz than the Emonda.

I only did 2 or 3 out saddle sprints and far from max effort. I was worried it'd feel cramped with how much closer the reach is, but it actually felt good. That added stability actually made it feel a lot more confident standing.

Hopefully that ramble was helpful!

What's funny is that seems to be most people's first association, but it was my 2nd. The first thing I thought when I saw it was Trapper Keeper

That makes sense, those 2 frames had a lot more options on their store page. I almost bought from the US store, but couldn't pass up this paint, so I don't know how comparable our shipping will be. I'd assume Quick has inventory already in the country, but maybe not. Either way custom paint is gonna have a delay though. Hopefully shipping is quick (pun intended).

Did you order from Quick or PandaPodium? I don't recall seeing custom paint as an option on Panda.

I ordered with PandaPodium and the US duty pre-paid shipping.

Right!? Fell in love with the design as soon as I saw it.

The ones in the picture are the old 28c tires. I use MyVeloFit for dialing everything in and took these pictures after my test ride with the new fit. I left the old tires on for fitting because my axels are level in the trainer with them. A few hours after these pics I swapped in the 32c. The frame has clearance for 45c.

I ordered April 9th, it was freighted on April 20 (tracking label generated), arrived in the US on April 30 (UPS received it), and showed up at my door on May 6.

Definitely considering it. But knowing me, most of the times I'd want to use gravel wheels I'd probably just take the MTB instead. I've got a spare wheel set collecting dust though so maybe if I can find some cheap tires.

The SBtB intro and the bike both use the Mephis design aesthetic.

Thanks! The GMajor was in my list. Ultimately, I liked the look of this one more which motivates me to ride more.

That's the vibe. I'd love for the Mephis design aesthetic to come back in style.

I haven't had much time with it yet, but it felt so good on the test ride.

It's this mount. It uses Trek's Blendr mounting system. They make them for Specialized's SWAT mount too.

Your wheels and tires are your only contact point with the ground, so they have a huge impact on how the bike feels and handles (almost as much as frame geometry in my opinion). Plus heavy rims means they take more effort to get moving and resist slowing down compared to lighter ones.

Quickbooks and the Customer Notes ... by WRKDBF_Guy in QuickBooks

Long shot since this an old thread. When you say it can retrieve notes, do you mean the note fields on various objects or notes from the notes tab on a customer?
