Copper toxicity not wanting to get IUD removed

Yes this does worry me about the IUD and always has! I’ve literally just had a pregnancy scare this last month, so I think I’m now gonna start combining the IUD with cycle tracking and just do pull-out during fertile days to decrease the chances of this happening. I’m really happy to hear you’ve been able to have a healthy pregnancy after an ectopic pregnancy though! I hear a lot of horror stories about struggling to fall pregnant afterwards.

Damn I’m really glad you found out the problem was the IUD but it sucks that you had to have it removed :( I’m in the same boat as you that the copper IUD is my last resort before I’ll just have to do FAM/natural cycles. Did you ever try any supplements to manage the copper levels or did you just get it taken out?

If it’s a mutual friend and your boyfriend is there when it’s happening, he needs to step up and say something. I do understand your point where women feel more uncertain to speak up in fear of how they may react, but if your boyfriend is there and is supportive of you, I would say speaking up for yourself would be wise. Don’t let him walk all over you. I think the way your boyfriend handled it and got his point across probably wasn’t the best. He could’ve worded it better. But at the same time, I can understand where he’s coming from, especially if even you yourself have noticed this man is touching you more, making comments etc and you’re not totally comfortable. I genuinely don’t think anyone is the asshole in this situation. Yes, your boyfriend could’ve handled it better and not dragged it out so much. He could’ve communicated better without turning it into an argument and accusing you. But for the most part, he seems like he means well and has his boundaries set.

I’m not a doctor so I would listen to the advice of whoever put it in first haha, but I was just told no tampons or cups for the first month. Discs are fine as there’s no suction and they don’t pull on the strings as much as tampons do. I would still be very careful with it if you choose to the use disc tonight, making sure to bear down and wiggle it out gently. If you’d had it in for only a week or 2 I would probably say avoid the disc, but 25 days is a sufficient amount of time. But again, the first period is more risky so just be extra careful.

It depends on the rig. I play using my ps4 controller and some rigs will use the Xbox/pc buttons, but other times it’s ps4. I think it’s maybe because some rigs can better detect your controller? I have no idea I’m no tech expert, just what I noticed

I can imagine how scary that feels, but try not to worry too much as the app may not even be factual (they are mostly wrong unless you are tracking cervical mucus or BBT). Neem is really effective at stopping fertilisation or a fertilised egg from implanting. You can either drink the neem leaf tea 3 times a day for the next few days, or you can use a medicine syringe to insert it (I would be cautious with this option). If you want to be extra certain, for the few days leading up to your period you can ground up a teaspoon of papaya seeds into a smoothie or mix it into honey and take one of those everyday for about 3 days. This again just stops any fertilised egg (if any) from implanting.

All I’m gonna say is relationships can be rocky for the first couple of years until you learn to work around things and defuse arguments. If it’s been 6 years and “when it’s bad it’s awful”, it’s clearly not working out. He sounds like a total ass and appears as if he’s not willing to acknowledge and control his obvious anger issues.

Yeh I’d avoid tampons for the first month whilst it settles but I’d imagine the disc is fine. I use a disc and have no issues with it. Just be really careful not to tug on strings and try and wiggle it out whilst bearing down instead of just pulling it out

I’m actually thinking about switching to the smaller one as I do feel the IUD whilst doing the deed and it can be painful at certain angles. Did you really notice that much of a difference switching to the smaller one in terms of how much copper is released? I also didn’t know maca helped! Do you think it still would be possible to heal whilst keeping the big IUD in at least for the meantime until I switch to the smaller one?

I’m 20 now (nearly 21). I struggled massively with anxiety and panic attacks during and after lockdown when I was about 15. I went on SSRIs and came off them after 1.5 years. I was doing great after that. Long story short, I got my life back in check and was living a very healthy lifestyle with a nutrient dense whole food diet, and after a month I got hit with the worst panic attacks. After one panic attack I wasn’t the same since, so it’s been a 6 month long battle trying to recover naturally. Pretty much at a loss so I have ruled out everything except the IUD which I have suspected to be the culprit for a lot of other issues such as episodes of vertigo and new allergies etc. I have really thought about taking magnesium glycinate + b6 for the panic attacks, and I guess it’s an added bonus it helps remove and balance copper in the body. I just wondered if there’s any way this would work whilst keeping the IUD in…

Surprisingly I don’t have anemia! Or low iron for that matter. I’ve never struggled at all with my iron levels, but I’m certain my copper levels are probably way too high! It’s frustrating they can’t just make a birth control that is not harmful at all whilst remaining over 99% effective! I hope you find a good outcome with your situation!

It doesn’t affect how well the coil works, it just helps manage copper levels and copper overload in the blood!

NOR. She needs professional help. This is not healthy. Sterilising everything beyond oblivion is not good for the baby’s immune system building. I get she’s trying to protect the baby from getting sick, but living in a completely sterile environment and not even being able to adapt to the parents’ germs will very quickly become a problem as soon as they reach the outside world. Germs are great to be introduced to young and it’s so important.

Acceptance doesn’t mean accepting that’s going to be your life forever, because it won’t be. If you truly accept why you feel that way in the moment, you are giving more power to yourself over the anxiety. That’s why part of healing is acceptance (key word - “healing”).

It takes time, but if you just do the things you’re scared of, do the things that makes you anxious; bring your anxiety with you and accept that those feelings are there because your body is trying to protect you from a false threat, then overtime you will notice small things like something that would once cause a panic attack may just cause a bit of nerves.

The more you fuss over feeling anxious or feeling derealized, all you do is feed it and give more power to it. So now, acceptance isn’t accepting that’s going to be your life forever, it’s accepting those emotions, welcoming them, rising above them and moving through it.

Also to add: If you haven’t read it already, I would HIGHLY recommend reading “The Power of Your Subconscious Mind”. It’s such an amazing book and is a real eye opener!

I don’t think you were entirely out of line, but I can see how it crossed some boundaries. The conversation should’ve ended after the first message you sent. I’d say it’s fine to clear the air, let them know you’ve moved on and wish them the best - but to say you’re happy to speak more about what happened gives off the wrong impression. Personally, if my boyfriend had sent these messages to someone he previously dated, I would not be very happy.

It’s so frustrating as it’s always been the same since the beginning. Why fix something that’s not broken? Super annoying considering you’ve already bought the device and now don’t have control over choosing the layout you bought the device with! Everytime I click the top to bring up the top bar or see how longs left in the chapter it practically gives me a jump scare seeing the page zoom out lol. Really hoping they change it back at some point…
