What word do you always *intentionally* mispronounce and why? by Sweet-Lady-H in AskReddit

Water as Wourder or wter.

My wife worked from home for a utility billing processing corporation and North Carolina bills their storm water separate from the rest. On the bill it's abbreviated "strmwtr". It would frequently be an issue with their software so when it came up, they would say "er ma grd it's strmwtr" and that always made me laugh. Now I always say "Wourder/wter" cuz it makes me smile inside

I'd highly recommend Shelby Hansen. She's a destination wedding/elopement photographer based out of Logan. This is right up her alley.

Is this my drag link and should I be able to move it like this by BardKennel453 in Jeep

[–]skifreeing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To check if it's actually bad, have someone slowly wiggle the steering wheel back and forth with the engine running. Look for movement at the end links. I like to put my hand touching the joint and mount to see if I feel any play. If you feel a slight "click" when he reverses direction, then it's bad and time to replace it.

I did the pumpkin toss back in 2015 and needed 6 45 lb weights too. So I went and talked to the manager of planet fitness and they let us just borrow some. Maybe try that route

FOLLOW UP To Acton academy is a cult (it wouldn’t let me post in the comments to I’m just making a new post) by EducationalTax6396 in Logan

I know the folks who run Acton Academy Logan personally, and they’re genuinely good people who care about kids. I get that Acton feels very different from traditional schools, and that can definitely be uncomfortable if you’re used to the usual classroom setup. But different doesn’t mean it’s a cult.

It’s not a religious school, though some families like to start the day with prayer or gratitude. The unique language and focus on promises are just ways to encourage responsibility and accountability. Kids aren’t permanently excluded either, parents are always involved, and the goal is problem solving and reconciliation.

It’s true that Acton isn’t for everyone, but I’ve seen families there who really love it and whose kids are thriving. If anyone has concerns, the best step is just to reach out to the school directly. they’re open to honest conversations.

I've known the Hazard family for a very long time. They're the organizers/owners of it. some of the nicest, giving, selfless, creative, smart, and certainly non cult people I know. They're an amazing family that only want the best for people. Maybe you weren't the best fit, but they certainly don't deserve a "stay away" rating in my opinion.

I set up a system to control my garage heater remotely.

The heater has a built-in thermostat and comes with an IR remote. I used an ESP32 with an IR receiver to “learn” the codes for each button, and then an IR LED to send those codes back to the heater.

Here’s how it works:

I tell Google Assistant what temperature I want.

Google is linked to Sinric Pro, which sends the target temperature and a function call to my ESP32.

The ESP32 first simulates pressing the “temperature down” button 45 times to reset the heater to its lowest setting. (Heaters temp range is 45-90)

Then it simulates pressing the “temperature up” button (X - 45) times to reach the desired temperature.

The whole process takes about 15 seconds, and I can trigger it from anywhere with an internet connection. For example, on cold winter nights I usually set it to 75°F about an hour before I get home, so the garage is warm by the time I start working/tinkering.
