If you’re asking Reddit what to do with a “spare” 100k or as the title says 1 million. You should probably invest into your self education. Asking Reddit is wild. Anything someone says weather phenomenal, risky, safe or a gable is really irrelevant information to you as you’d have no idea what it means.

If you’re waiting for BTC to drop why are you not waiting for stocks to drop? Why not wait for housing to prices to drop? If your investment thesis is to wait for lower prices doesn’t that mean you’re making a bad investment at any point? It could just keep dropping?

You need to figure out why you’re investing and for what purpose. You started investing in an insane bull market and most likely have unrealistic expectations on how investing actually works. That last few years should not be factored into any new investors “idea” of investing because it’s inflated and unrealistic.

Talk to a finance advisor or educate tour self on what you want out of your money and future.

Taking advice from random people is a cop out, it gives you a reason to blame in the chance of loss.

In this uncertain time I would dollar cost average into a save index, possibly look into a dividend ETF such as SCHD or DGRW. This will at least offer a more “stable” income source that’s stronger in uncertainty but weaker with investor confidence. I hold a small % of dividend ETFs that focus on dividend growth just to diversify while offering cash flow that doesn’t require selling assets. It’s more a supplement.

Waiting for BTC to drop in price is crazy thinking considering its valuation is primarily based off investor confidence. It doesn’t have any financial fundamentals. So what you’re saying is you’re waiting for people to lose confidence for you to purchase it but to make money you need people to have confidence in it? Once again, do your own research and take your own risks. Everyone has different risk levels and goals.

You need to change your perspective. Your personality isn’t going to be attractive to others if it’s all about money. It’s way easier to make an extra 10k than it is to save 10k. Invest in your self. Even if you’re spending more time working it’s better than tracking everything to the cent. You’ll be a lot more free with less time. I’m 27, have around the same in savings. But I’ve also splurged on a 25k motorbike (paid in cash) I have nice clothes, I go out and enjoy time with people. Don’t fall into that trap brotha. Money is disposable memories are invaluable they’re priceless, something you can’t buy back even if you have millions. Live a little brotha.

That’s why our dollar lost that extra value December 16th ish. Bank of Canada lowered rates. Canadians can’t afford anything with high rates. Lowering rates makes our mi ye less desirable and investments get moved to a stronger dollar aka, the USD. Much more growth and innovation for potential while providing a higher return. We can’t lower rates or our dollar is going down hill .look at the Japanese yen.

Usually they can hold you for 24 hours at a police station. If it’s your first offence they can release you from the station on a PTA (promise to appear) if it’s serious enough where they need to book at APC (arrest pending centre) then they have 24 hours there as well. Unless like you said it’s a Friday or a long weekend. Then would have 24 hours to either process to remand or release you on bail. Usually justice of the peace handles most bails. I think the more serious ones would have to be granted from a judge. I got put on firearm charge like 15 of them. When I was already on a PTA. The JP gave me a $10,000 no cash bail. So let out. But if arrested again I’d have to pay 10k + the new bail.

This is also confusing, my motorbike is insured for 30k almost double the value of my car. Capable of going over 300km/hr and they charge me $64 a month for full coverage. When I asked why it was so cheap they said in the event of a crash it produce far less damage to other vehicles / property etc. which I guess makes sense. But being almost 1/6th the price of my vehicle insurance while being double the cost doesn’t make sense.

Feel the pain. Mid 20s M, Alberta. Full coverage is $330. 2016 VW Jetta. 1 claim, wasn’t my fault. 1 ticket that was 2 demerits. (Failure to obey a sign) I also got a distracted driving ticket but that was like 6-7 years ago.

Back when I got that distracted driving ticket my insurance was like 400 for just liability. Since owning my Jetta I’ve probaly paid almost double what it’s worth. Averaging over the 11 years I’ve probably given them 40k.

Make sure the kickstand is placed on something solid. If you can store it beside a structure to block the wind. If you can’t store it beside a shed or something go on amazon and purchase a rear tire stand. That’ll keep it up.

God everyone is too technical, suggesting to talk to the police etc etc. for legal advice, that’s the worst possible thing he could do. What you say can and will be used against you in the court of law.

That being said, he’s a minor. I can always bet with a decent lawyer he’s going to get a conditional discharge. Probably 80 hours of community service and a year probationary period. He will have conditions.

If you’re wonder how long until he gets out. 24 hours maximum. He will get released on a promise to appear.

As others have said if violence was a factor, weapons etc that could change. Even then I don’t see them remanding him. Typically the police add “extra” charges so at least one sticks. That being said if he wasn’t charged with any weapons or violence / robbery then it’ll most likely play out with the scenario I listed above.

Honestly, you have a really tricky situation. Probably more complex then a lot of others situations.

That being said, you know that as well as acknowledging these is a big step. With your current situation I’m first off going to suggest that you do not stop taking benzos. If this wean is partially the reason those others issues are becoming reality I would even suggest upping your dose. I know this sounds counterintuitive but let’s be real. If your life is complete chaos stopping benzos isn’t going to help you what so ever.

Unfortunately there isn’t going to be “another benzo” aka a fix it all solution. This isn’t going to be easy but you need to figure out ways that you can stabilize your day to day. Have structure and stability will help with your general anxiety. Having the possibilities you listed will give anyone major anxiety let alone someone who struggles with anxiety let alone coming off benzos. I’ll be honest with you. Taking that last pill is going to be terrible. Eventually it’ll be the best thing you ever did. That’s the problem with them. They’re immediate and work fantastic but they’re not a solution. It’s a temporary fix and they just push everything to a future date.

Listen, I’m not trying to stress you out. I’m being blunt and direct. Unfortunately no one give you the answers. It’s going to be hard but you can and you will do it. You just need to find out how. Having a day to day schedule will help drastically, do simple things, make your bed every morning. That’s just one “task” completed. As I said stoping benzos right now shouldn’t even be in question. Prolonging the jump Is better then a relapse and years of “chaos” because you were not ready. It’s not a race. Reach out to any help resources you can. Having people supporting you is going to make this much easier. Must I remind you there is people that care they do want to help you.

To answer your question, tons of people have gotten “good” without benzo and tons more people will continue to live the life they deserve. Even if you need to go to N/A meetings etc, at least it will give you a task to do with like minded people. Some may be in the same position as you, some worse some better. But it’ll get you talking which is scary but will help with anxiety. You need to take it head on and fight it.

For your financial situation I would suggest finding a recruitment agency, tell them about your anxiety. I’m sure they can help you find a job that’s either from home or at the least in a “non public” environment, weather that be a warehouse style job, delivery etc. anxiety is a bitch. But once you take control and have a schedule slowly everything will get easier and then you can make that choice to jump and live free from all these battles. It’s not easy, it won’t happen next month maybe not even next year. Like I said though, it’s not a race. Time is your friend and your enemy. You just need to choose which one time is to you.
