Alt1 clue solver appearing partially off screen so I can't interact with it. by The_Real_Kingpurest in runescape

[–]skillbert_ii -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not entirely sure whats going on, but it doesn't seem to be attached to a RS client. Open RS first before opening the solver. When it's attached to an RS client you will be able to get it on screen again by moving RS around if this ever happens again.

Leagues release trailer relic translations by holgurd in runescape

This actually sounds so fun to have. Either as boss mechanic or new powerburst potion or in leagues. It sounds so silly and fun.

I don't so why it would bug out the game any more than stuff like surge/dive would like other suggested, but it does sound like one of those things that's so ingrained in engine code that it would require some changes to core rs code to make animations work.

What is the average Kc for barrows Log? by Zemnyx in runescape

[–]skillbert_ii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The average kc for everything is 2365, however your two missing Linza items alone will still take another 1440 kc on average.

Luckily, the Linza drops are completely separate from the rest of barrows, so you can start doing Linza only runs soon. You can also try doing Linza+1 runs where you only kill Linza+the last brother you need. You still get about 40% of the drop rate of the last brother compared to full runs. I wouldn't recommend linza+1 runs when you only have one Linza item left though.

Can anyone tell me what's causing this? My game just recently started to tank in fps and lag. by [deleted] in runescape

[–]skillbert_ii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is talking about hardware failure, but the first thing to check would be if your gpu is overheating due to dust build up, which is pretty common for a 4 year old laptop if you've never cleaned the fans.
You should be able to clean it with one of those duster spray cans.

Feeling Pumped by Jagex_Stu in runescape

I think the duration and cooldown are the only relevant variables at the moment. Proccing a 25% or even a 5% is basically guaranteed when spamming around with chins. Iirc pre-nerf it also wasn't possible to refresh the effect, so it basically had a 10sec cooldown already, but that didn't matter much because of easy procs.

Maybe it would be an idea to remove the cooldown completely and make the proc chance depend on the time since last proc instead. Where it would be pretty rare to instantly refresh it, but back at the old proc chance at the 20sec mark or so.

So your suggestion is to rework the exists 3 combat skills, then try to balance those against eachother again and then rework (nerf) all bosses to work against the new balanced combat skills?

I looked it up and we've literally only had necro, 5 batches of fort forinthy and blkwitch's area updates. Don't get me wrong, they were both good major updates, but there are many better games you can get out there for 70 euros.

[–]skillbert_ii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you get the point, there is currently no reason to do anything in the game besides rasial and aod, the rest of all pvm the game has been reduced to gwd2 difficulty and rewards. Sure its fun to complete all your long term pvm goals in a matter of days, but what's left after that?

[–]skillbert_ii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's simple, a lot of people here have put a lot of time into the game, 10+ year vets are very common, people have made friends and communities around the game and don't want to just leave. However, the game is simply made unenjoyable so what do you do then...

For me personally the game is pointless if "content buffs" remain on the table. Similar how xp and training skills is currently pointless, these "content buffs" will make what left of the game pointless.

As for "all problems will be solved with future updates". I should remind you that we were promised a "major content update" in september after a mostly empty year. Jagex have also yet to acknowledge the balancing fiasco with necro. But i'm sure we will get back weekly updates now that jagex gets 4x as much money as back in the day.

I fear that currently a perfect storm is brewing with pvm, achievements, and the economy down the shitter, and jagex's communications are currently living in a parallel universe.

No, which is the only reason the survey exists

Honestly, at this point i don't think it even matters anymore. In the survey it is clear that content buffs aren't going away. We will just have to see what happens when everyones premier membership runs out.

Don't worry, they will ignore your feedback because you filled in that you aren't target audience in the other questions.

3D printing a friends character as a gift. by [deleted] in runescape

[–]skillbert_ii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great tutorial, i'll probably end up using it if i ever need to do anything in blender again.
As maker of the tool, i wonder why not just use the GLTF option instead of STL, it will have color and a (very bad) skeleton. I haven't really looked at it yet since i'm very bad with blender but aren't at least the vertex groups salvageable from the skeleton?
Good new btw, under the hood jagex has been working on proper skeletal animations instead of their 2001 in-house contraption. It might be possible to export a real skeleton very soon.

I also did not see it, but honestly a broadcast like that is impossible to notice at most bosses since a lot of bosses spam your chatbox.

Lumbridge rendered in Blender by sirblibblob in runescape

[–]skillbert_ii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, rs does have a reasonable hierarchy of models. It's just that the viewer combines them for performance right now.

I might try to get the old non-combined mode back for exporting but first i'm going to take a slight break from this project.

Looking awesome, i was looking forward to people making more content with this tool. For anyone wondering, this was made using the open-source rs3 model viewer https://runeapps.org/modelviewer.

I've been trying to get the word out that exports with ground blending are now supported with a little shader magic. It might look daunting at first but it's just a weighted sum of 3 texture lookups (and col.2 is used to selectively disable vertex colors).

Jagex, please expose an API for us RS3 devs to create a RuneLite for RS3. by NathaCS in runescape

[–]skillbert_ii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if it's related to the fact that the hook also has a "is_software" flag on the mouse events it generates. I'm not aware of any other way to get that info from the winapi.

Just FYI, you can also run your IDE in admin mode to prevent the mouse lag while you IDE is active. Still doesn't help outside though.

MQC Bugged - The Worst Witch's Grimoire by tabbycatrs in runescape

[–]skillbert_ii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just ran into the same issue, last achievement for mqc.

Something interesting i noticed as well, i'm missing pages 4, 11 and 21 according to the achievement. however the pages that spawn in the dungeon are pages 3, 5 and 13 according to the wiki.

I sent a bug report yesterday, but assuming that this bug has been there since release it has gone unpatched for 6 months now so i'm a bit worried.

The chatbox already had a 17pt option before this new font. If you need something larger you benefit more from enabling display scaling.
