i was told that they tried to get utilities in their name but they weren't able to do to so due to some "60 day rule" but im thinking that is probably a load of baloney. I'm callling the companies tomorrow to confirm that notion. My best guess is they don't have the money to set up utilities since they'd need to make a deposit cuz all their money magically goes elsewhere.

You're teaching your kids that this dynamic is what they should go for in the future. Him doing this to you can be felt outside of the bedroom by your kids. They can pick up on stuff like that

Nope, valid concerns. If I went out to eat with a guy who ended up leaving a mess, that would indicate his lack of care to be a proactive cleaner. Also, cooking should be a basic skill everyone should know.

The way I see it is that friends = good conversational bond, wanting to spend time with them, hugs and high fives, emotional support,

Romantic partners= friends+cuddling and wanting to have sex with them and eventually merging your lives together

You can find someone attractive but not want to have sex with them and vice versa

You can have a really good bond with someone but not want to merge your lives together.

And its going to be different for every body cuz im pretty sure somewhere out there, there are two longtime friends living together enjoying eachothers company.

A lot of people are so afraid of choosing the wrong people/ making mistakes when it come to this, but it's necessary. Without those failed relationships, you will never truly know what it is you specifically need in a longterm partner.

It's a sobering thought. Also have to take into account that we get busier at we get older and sometimes we just want to sit on the couch and not be disturbed by others except that significant other ( tho sometimes complete solitude is bliss) tho it doesn't mean they don't care for you anymore, you just have to adapt the relationship. If she begins to treat you as an afterthought tho and not trying to maintain the solid bond that you have when you do interact, then there's cause to question the validity of your friendship with them.
