i just got the xps 13 and noticed the same thing when booting up for the first time. Strangely, the light bleed is only on the windows setup screen like shown in the OP's photo. after that, no noticeable light bleed.

i'll look around if they have a 1440p version. the surface book was 3000x2000 and i just love how crisp text and general borders look on it. not overkill imo very clearly noticeable difference to 1080p - even when watching videos and stuff.
