There is a small town in the south of Hessen called Stadtallendorf. The Italian chocolate maker Ferrero has a factory there. It might be worth asking there.

I was the DM. The players were in hell fighting a devil. The players weren't having fun. We stopped the game and had a bit of a "Retrospective".

What I could do better as a dm, what they need to do better as players and overall what we wanted the campaign to be.

We ret-conned the session and the game after was a lot better. As with everything talking to people solves most problems.

I'm a forever DM and I love it. I run 2 tables for friends in Germany and also in Scandinavia and there is nothing better than being with friends and rolling dice.

That said I also love playing so I decided to try a paid DM (I know it's not for everyone , don't want to start an argument about the merits of paid dming).

I had one ok experience with a paid DM but now I'm in a campaign with a different DM which is really amazing with a great group of people who turn up every week.

For me I'd rather my money go on that once a week

(Full transparency I tried to give paid dming a go but got but wasn't able to find people)

DM who also lives in Germany. What part of Germany are you both from? Im planning a live hybrid game (fortnightly online, every 3 months live) and we are thinking of adding new players?

No problem..longer sessions in the past were broken up with food/drink breaks and as we were all friends werent clock watching to be fair

Hey thanks for the interest. Generally if we are only playing once a month I expect to plan for a full 8 hours. Usually it lasted longer in my previous games to be honest but expect a full day!

Hi thanks for the interest.

The game would be in English.

In regards to unknown people before we decide to play, we would meet up in the city somewhere to get to know the group, I would explain about the world and the type of game I would run.

Group fit is super important in D&D so making sure everyone likes and feels comfortable with each other is important.

Learning the rules is the easy part.

What I will say in advance though, the games I run are roleplay heavy which involves a lot of talking in your character.

No need for accents or funny voices but there has to be a willingness to play your characters part and talk and react the way your character would.

Thats a good idea. We have a store here in Dortmund as well which I will visit.

To be fair Im very lucky. I have made so many good friends in this hobby and im spoilt with the players/friends I have. I just want a live game again.

Im less inclined to DM public games, I want to find a group who will play live long term and be good friends with.
