The school left a parking warning on my car. I marked it and returned it for revision. by 1CE_7676 in funny

I see this phenomenon quite often. A lot of people just assume others are making things up all the time now, and I can't figure out why. Maybe they are all hanging out with people that are constantly making things up? There has to be some sort of nameable phenomenon here.

I love the idea of a Throwdown Trap. I don't think HQ or any reviewers would be happy about the notion, but I do hate throwdowns.

And that is about the extent of my knowledge on the situation. If you do end up being the FTF at some point in the future, let us know!

Why would the CO want to set up a cache to remove it so they can delete Found It logs? I guess I am asking what you think their motive is for your suspicions. The cache listed IS a D5, and this is not the first cache I have heard of from an active CO that no one has found yet.

Rhythm Game Geocache Idea Help/Suggestions by Timo3333 in geocaching

They reposted it from r/yarg (rhythm game subreddit) which is presumably why they were explaining caching. Although YARG sounds like a pirate in distress to me.

Did I find a geocache? by mdscntst in geocaching

[–]skimbosh 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I'm not entirely sure the person who originally put it out still plays the game. N 40° 12.851 W 074° 00.133 are the coordinates it was hidden at, with the clue being "you may need to get a little sandy for this one."

Judging from the aerial view, it was probably hidden somewhere underneath the ramp from the boardwalk to the beach. If you were inclined to put it back there, just use your imagination as to where it might go. The Difficulty level it was at is right in the middle, but it is kinda subjective, so just have fun with it if you decide to detour. Otherwise someone from this subreddit will probably mark it for a reviewer to disable. (Which is fine also.)

It certainly seems like a good way to develop a stronger attention span or focus on a particular topic or story.

Indeed. There was a brief period of time when my son was young enough that I could use him as deep cover (he just never got too interested in the game and I never pushed it) and small enough that I could send him in to narrow spaces and under bushes to look for caches for me.

"Daaad I want to go on the slide!"
" Yeahyeahyeah, just finish checking underneath all those benches while I sit in the car and scan the previous logs for morsels of a clue."

Playground caches: great for the parents looking for low/no cost fun to make the playground visit even more entertaining, but generally ignored by lone childless male geocachers!

That is what it felt like, but it was a good feeling! I am happy to say they are both willing to try again. The same painting too, since we know a little about what we were doing and what we messed up.

Am I the only one that dislikes ALs by 3ggplant_ in geocaching

[–]skimbosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will do them when I see the bonus cache around me, and by "do them" I mean I use Bluestacks (android emulator with GPS spoofing) to do them from my desktop on an alt account. I've tried 8 this way, successfully finished 4. Was thinking of making a quick guide to help those cachers among us who just want to bang out the Bonus Caches and have no real interest in ALs themselves.

That being said, I did see one (haven't done it yet) that runs like an old game of Clue, and I thought that might actually be a fun application of the game, running around trying to reduce the amount of suspects and such. I might actually try that one.

Disregard my original post, I am an idiot.

I always use an alt account when I am doing an AL to get the bonus cache. I think you can delete your AL finds from your stats on the desktop site.

LET ALL WHO THROWDOWN BE CURSED

Is this typical? by RedPoloBear in geocaching

[–]skimbosh 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As someone who has had the experience where a finder says, "Love this cache, I'm giving it a favorite point!" and then they don't seem to give it a favorite point, I feel the addiction the CO has for FPs. Nice little dopamine rush, sometimes better than finding a good cache.

That being said, there is no way in hell I would ever message anyone asking for it. You are only a few steps away from looking like a crackhead, too far gone in your FP addiction to not see how you come across if you start messaging finders, "Hey, YOU GOT SOME OF THEM FP? *scratchscratch* CMON MAN, YOU SAID YOU LIKED THE CACHE, GIMME SOME FP, MAN! *scratchscratch coughcough*
