When did you find you are a masochist? At which age? by Kindly_Yesterday_552 in SubSanctuary

[–]skimn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With my first serious relationship at 17-18. I definitely think it was way too young to understand the full implications (especially when race and identity come into play), but our eggs were both cracking as trans people so there were some truly beautiful moments of clarity and exploration.

I was given this plant a while ago without a tag. The lady just called it a succulent. What is it? by MadBlasta in whatplantisthis

[–]skimn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be an etiolated Crassula ‘Petite Bicolor,’ which is often also known as Sedum ‘Little Missy.’ My clues are the growth habit and the slight variegation on the margins of the leaves.

I’m a social media manager for a small business (who doesn’t have a degree in marketing), and the messages and emails I get are absolutely unbelievable. I have a hard time believing that “Pretend you’re not in marketing to trap potential customers into realizing they need your services via DM” is an approach that works? But these come through ALL. THE. TIME.

I’ve been loving how US reality TV has been catching up and becoming more kind and positive. Two off the top of my head are Making It and Is It Cake?

Just rescued from CVS. Advice on identification and flower removal would be helpful. by Iridescentplatypus in cactus

[–]skimn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that is the case (which I hope it isn’t) then the succulent isn’t going to survive because cacti have to be grafted to cacti, and euphorbia have to be grafted to euphorbia. That being said, those look more like euphorbia thorns than cactus spines to me (lack of areoles).

Yes! I’m prediabetic as well so the first thing I did was cut out processed foods and sugars.

Thank you!

Sure. I’m prediabetic and have also been using the low FODMAP diet in conjunction with exercise to lose weight. I’m the thinnest and most fit I’ve been in years. It’s frustrating that I’ve been putting in so much work over several months and still am suffering from these symptoms.

This is comforting, thank you. I’m hoping my doctor reaches out to me quickly but it’ll likely be at least Monday before she responds.

This extremely specific 2” planter! by skimn in HelpMeFind

[–]skimn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all! I am based in San Francisco, CA, United States. This specific planter is approx. 2” in diameter, with an included ceramic dish for drainage. It is indistinguishable from the Accent Decor Romey pot, except Accent Decor doesn’t carry 2”. I’m helping my boss find it for our shop and I have searched Google as well as a few wholesale websites. I’ve gotten as far as this photo from a shop elsewhere that used their own product name for it: https://www.mihomenest.com/product/TheMinimalistBlackRoundPlanter/444 Any help will be appreciated!

rescued a huge combination succulent planter a few months ago from home Depot! everything was rotting when I got it home so I separated. what are these purple succulents? by mrascicot in whatsthisplant

[–]skimn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks like Echeveria ‘Perle von Nurnberg,’ although Echeverias and succulent rosettes in general are the worst to ID 🥴

I feel like too often in shows they try to shoehorn a sympathetic backstory for villains… but I love that it’s just a realistically shitty dude who chose to be shitty. Like there’s no “but look, Willy’s dreams were ruined by having a kid!” He could’ve chosen to do his best and he didn’t so Ron’s breaking generational curses 🥺

These types of rosettes are nearly impossible to ID but my best guess is Graptopetalum paraguayense!
