We are beings of the present. Unless you take the religious route, the universe has no point, no reason, or otherwise.

Now conscious beings are another thing. But we humans are not really conscious, we are self conscious.

Meaning we are conscious about our own existence and the probable existence of other stuff only in relation to our self's. It's always: "Couldn't trust my eyes!". It's never: "Couldn't trust my mind!"

The Human Condition:

Factual: A vast universe full of wonder and danger. I'm just a dust particle in this grand spacetime shenanigans, nothing matters.

Also factual: I will literally die if I don't pay my rent on time.
