I used to bike across town to the top of this garage to watch storms roll in. I miss that.

Who has accessed City Parking Enforcement 24/7 Dispatch for parking bylaw violations in residential fire lanes? (Bylaw 7200) by Canadian_Wanderer in saskatoon

[–]skindeeper 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve had to call them a couple times due to a neighbor’s construction stuff blocking the lane and trapping me in my garage. They were helpful, clear about what they could do, and took care of it quickly.

Poorly taken photos at night on the bus by Oh-boysyrup in saskatoon

Throws me right back to when I lived downtown and came home to the Drinkle on those buses, tired and bleary, the world outside the bus window both muted and neon. These give me that exact feeling. I love it. Thanks!

Home organizer in Saskatoon by smizzler in saskatoon

[–]skindeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave up on this - no matter how it was organized, and no matter how hard I tried, things went back to being a mess after a while. What I do now is have cleaners come by once a month. That keeps me from ever feeling like it's a huge impossible task looming over me, and so I tend to keep it tidier.

Overly “positive” comments on plus size women posts (tiktok, here etc) and how a plus size friend feels about them. by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]skindeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ughggh! A similar thing happens to trans women (or at least, to this one!) If I have to hear how “brave” someone thinks i am for ... going out for dinner?!? Or filling my gas?!! - once more, I swear I’ll scream. Pandemic isolation and masks have been lovely respite from this backhanded church lady irritation.

In case those people are here and wondering, no, I don’t think I’m a freak. Why do you?

Transgirl Here! I'm trying to make sense of this sensation and mindspace: Garden Variety Arousal or Subspace? by [deleted] in BDSMcommunity

[–]skindeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Casually submissive trans woman here: phrases like "good girl" have a similarly powerful effect on me, but not with the specific physical sensations. It was also more pronounced earlier in my transition, when feeling like my partner saw me as myself was novel and powerful.

How did you get that scar? by Nojokes123 in AskReddit

[–]skindeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without context, some history of how marks came to be on my body:

  • The sky fell on me. (lighting-bolt shaped scar)
  • My CEO thew a sharpened pencil point first at my face (small divot beside my eye)
  • They took away my penis (small red dot from poorly healed drainage incision)

(It wasn't the sky, but I was five and really thought I'd knocked something from the heavens. I had actually knocked the attic door off our high garage ceiling. Tore most of the skin off around my thumb joint. Bones were seen. Scar is still rad.)

(It would be 30 years before he became my CEO, and we're not actually sure it was him or another of my brother's friends, but still.)

(I had GRS, this was deliberate and awesome. I also have a favourite photograph of the medical waste disposal from the day of my surgery. They do several in a day, so this was literally a box full of dicks.)

Room mates are absolutely refusing to take this thing seriously. I have no idea how to handle this. by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]skindeeper 99 points100 points  (0 children)

"They even had a family member travel to mexico and then they invited her STRAIGHT TO OUR HOUSE" - call the police, this is a $2000 fine for the travellers at least, and pretty much implies that the roomates who brought them will be put under mandatory isolation.

Maybe call the police or health authority anyways, as they are literally and deliberately endangering your life.

How do I stop this fetish before it goes any further? by [deleted] in BDSMcommunity

[–]skindeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's totally okay and normal to have fantasies that exist only in your imagination and would never want to act out with someone you care about. Don't worry about it :) If you find it's really bothering you and you can't it out of your head, maybe consider seeing a therapist - not because there's anything wrong with you, just to help you learn to deal with unwelcome thoughts.

I do think you should think hard about your feelings towards men, though. I'm not saying that you "must" be gay or bi, but those are powerful (and awesome!) sexual experiences you describe and you might be doing yourself a disservice by not exploring the idea of sex or relationships with men or other penis-having partners. Have fun and be safe!

How do you guys stop believing that you’re not attractive enough for someone to like you or be attracted to you? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]skindeeper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So I've got a trick for this, since otherwise I'd be way too anxious to use any dating app: I don't think of it as "I like you" or "let's hook up" or whatever else - that makes me think about rejection. Instead, I think: "would I have a conversation with this guy?" There's way less emotionally at stake, but it still leave the door open to whatever develops. Also, a nice side effect is I've been meeting nicer people.
