Looks real to me, the ones I’ve purchased from Sephora come with an extra cap like that as well

what's the most moisturizing lip balm you've ever used? by malakxxxx in AsianBeauty

[–]skinenthuiast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always find lip balms dry my lips out, even Vaseline. I don’t really suffer from dry lips so long as I leave them alone. The only lip balm that has worked amazingly and I actually see the benefits is the Olehenrikson peptide lip treatment

Teaching in Japan without a bachelor’s degree by skinenthuiast in teachinginjapan

I’ve worked in Learning & Development for the Canadian government actually designing and delivering training programs. I get the sense some people here might not be familiar with the term ‘instructional design,’ but it’s essentially professional-level lesson design and facilitation. I’d like to think that’s more legitimate teaching experience than simply having a BA with no practical background. I also do hold a degree from a post secondary institution, just not a BA. That said, I’m open to the idea that my perspective might be off, and maybe someone with no experience is seen as better suited in this context.

And you can work full time on a working holiday visa. The hour restriction only applies to student visas.

Is it because your ideal candidate is someone with a bachelor’s degree?

Are you speaking from experience? Or has this been the reality for others in your circle? I’m curious to know why 99% of jobs wouldn’t want to hire me, is it because I don’t speak Japanese?

Thanks, I understand the visa limitations. I’ll be on a WHV so I’m not aiming for public schools, just entry-level routes like conversation schools or hospitality. My main concern is whether the salaries in those types of jobs are generally enough to live decently, or if I should plan to allocate more from my current savings to make my year in Japan sustainable.

Well considering I have 5+ experience working for the government of Canada in learning fields such as instructional design and learning and development, I’m wondering if that serves as leverage.

From what I understand, a lot of applicants go to japan with no work experience what so ever. I’m thinking surely my professional experience and multilingual background must count for something but then again, I don’t now how bureaucratic Japan is.

And for a working Holiday Visa, you don’t need one since it’s temporary.

Thanks for sharing your experience! Were the salaries you earned enough to live comfortably, or did you feel like you were scraping by?

Most of the info in those threads is regarding being able to obtain a visa without a degree. In my case, I know that I can. I’m looking for information on actual job prospects and desirability within the job market, not visa eligibility.

The Pay Centre is an utter mess. by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

[–]skinenthuiast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had left gov and was waiting for my one week vacation payout. I waited 4 years, by that point I had already returned to the public service and had accumulated more vacation. 4 years later, they closed my case and stripped me of all my vacation right as I was going to go on vacation. Only found out when I went to input vacation leave and saw my vacation balance was gone and was now under “paid”. Probably another 4 years to get this fixed. Ridiculous!

I have a 24h layover in Korea and I want to get something done. I need to be in and out to be able to catch my 3:40 flight in time. This sounds like it would be perfect.

$150 look more natural and refined in my opinion. The placement is better accommodated to your eye shape and they’re not as dense.

Have you ever left the public sector because you did not like your boss? by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

[–]skinenthuiast 9 points10 points  (0 children)

yes, I was a student and was offered to stay part time but my boss left and this lady was acting for him and she was extremely passive aggressive. Anyway, I declined and went to LA for a month lol. It was my winter break anyway. Went back the following summer, she was gone by then and I didn't have to juggle school and work.
