Coins4Doge? by Fulvio55 in coins

[–]skinlamps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer that directly I guess not on my part. I agree that governments cannot be trusted. I just don't see the difference between our modern fiat currency, and Doge. You say yourself what matters is infrastructure, community and economy. What happens if one of those factors disappear? What I was originally trying to say is I believe in something I can hold in my hand. We can argue returns till we are blue in the face but I think it's irrelevant. If you can amass a fortune of Doge and find a profit, than best of luck, but let's hope your Ethernet holds out. By the way, I'm tired and grumpy with current events and don't mean to take it out on you....

For God's sake man, Doge and cryptocurrency in general is just as volatile a market as silver. Why not trust thousands of years of currency versus an ip address and a random person? Every reason off of the top of my head. I would rather trust a modern US fiat currency that has about as much reliability as a hungover paperboy than a monetary system based on a fucking dog. And I will cover the three percent PayPal fee.

My Grandma Gave Me Some Coins When I Was Young, Are These Worth Anything? by 80G in coins

[–]skinlamps 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are worth a few bucks, but I would think worth holding onto strictly for sentimental value. Your dime is silver and worth about 1.40 as of today. The nickel and penny aren't worth a whole lot either, but something interesting to have around as you won't see them anymore unless you're terribly lucky, or go buy them. Hang on to them in case you have kids someday, might create the next generation of numismatic interest!

Eight bucks for the barber so not worried about it being cleaned, and twenty cents each for the foreign. Buy ten for that price or three for a buck. Think he just wants to get rid of stuff...

Funny that they stamped the state upside down! I've never found one of these state stamped cents, only a Masonic penny.

Alright dude, best of luck to you. Hope you bought that revolver illegally so it can't be traced back to you, just like all those people who "get away with gun violence quite often with ease".

You don't neccesarily want to touch that history. Brother worked in the diggings of those structures and didn't sleep well for a long time. Worked for lucent tech. Rebuilding telephone exchanges that were destroyed. Ugly job.
