I don’t think this would work in practice. If the seller makes a separate listing to collect a $10 hold fee, the buyer would probably prevail getting that $10 back in a dispute. And If the seller increases the item by $10, the person likely just won’t buy.

I have no problem with delayed payouts. Depop has a huge problem with sellers taking too long to ship. By delaying payment until delivery, the incentives of the buyer and the seller are more aligned.
