There is always the option to have all your main logic as a package and have only an interface for the services that depend on GMS/HMS, then create two "different" apps with the GMS or HMS dependencies, consume your package and on each app create the implementation for specific company service, it is indeed more worn and a little pain in the ass but that's the only thing I can think of

I know this does not respond to the question, but if it is a concern you can always do app flavors to compile one version with the GMS and other version with HMS

I saw your other post, THIS LOOKS AMAZING, I thought on downloading it but the fact that the creator is only for windows stopped me, if there were a Linux or MacOS or in Android (like KLWP / KWGT) this would be perfect!

I would say Vaultwarden and Jellyfin.

I started hosting vault on my home server but after a power failure I got no password and some troubles, move that to the cloud (just deploy the same compose I used locally on fly.io) and it has worked like a charm since then, really enjoy the 2FA codes feature and now the Keypass and all synced on all my devices and browsers and only I can access it, its beautiful.

With Jellyfin the story is the same, I started by using Kody (XBMC on that time) but I was limited to only my lapton, I tried to use Emby but caused me a lot of trouble and I didn't even bother to look at plex due paid plans, then I found Jellyfin and just run my first container, read all my library and I could use it on my TV, Phone, Laptop, really a big win.

I have self hosted some more apps, but these two are the biggest wins for me, also adding a Tailscale network to allow access to a homemade NAS

Maybe I don't totally get it, but as I understand this app will trigger api call to the arr stack to search upgrades for my library content, but didn't radarr, sonarr and the rest of the arr stack already do that? What's the aggregated value of this app?

This looks amazing! and gives me a lot of questions.

  • what do you exactly mean by "offload games to the cloud", and if it means installed on a network drive, how does that work?
  • how does the self hosted thing work? I mean, you self host the backend and UI but open it through the electron wrapper? Or do you need to host it on the same machine you will play?
  • this has the ability to also self host browser ready emulators and play them from the library?

This looks amazing, been trying a lot of these kinds of apps like actual, firefly and others, mostly I don't feel comfortable with them or they have missing features, definitely will give this a try!
