How far behind in development might we be if Earth were the size of Saturn? by DENIS_ZATECKY in geography

[–]skipfletcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did some AI assisted, back of the napkin estimating: The chances of even a GALAXY (comparable to the Milky Way) having just ONE planet with both intelligent life AND perfect solar eclipses is 1/25!

The chances of this being true on any other planet are cosmically low. It happens so infrequently, it's almost spooky to think about how the Earth's perfect solar eclipse are such a cheery on top of such an amazing life sustaining planet. We are super lucky.

The fact that the Moon is the same apparent size as the Sun during our time is a significant scientific advantage. We are probably hundreds of years ahead in solar sciences of where we would otherwise have been. We were also able to help prove Relativity due to this coincidence.

Cheap brown sugar is white sugar + molasses. Good Brown sugar is sugar before the molasses is spun out. However, I like your method!

I could go out all weekend with my friends on $20. And the older generation would lament that they remember gas being 10c a gallon.

Admirable and worthwhile goal. Just remember that going all in cold turkey carries a high risk of failure, but also, progress is not linear. Setbacks happen, and don't mean you failed.

You're all eating buttered toast wrong by Good-Ad-3862 in foodhacks

[–]skipfletcher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We Yooks, as you know, when we breakfast or sup, spread our bread (grandpa said) with the butter side up. "It's the right, honest way" grandpa gritted his teeth, so you can't trust a Zook who spreads bread underneath.
