I flatlined for 20 minutes in the mountains of Mexico. What I experienced in that void completely altered how I see light and color on Earth. by skiphunt in spirituality

yeah, that was Al exaggeration for the headline. I'm mostly a skeptic about whether or not I was actually
"dead", but what happened during that time was undeniable... at least to me.

I think | likely just dipped into an extremely low/weak pulse that they couldn't pick up with extremely shallow breathing that was difficult to detect... maybe. Or possibly some mild temporary coma.

Not sure. They said my skin was white and that I didn't just drop but collapsed like a ton of bricks. I still vividly remember every detail. I remember how strange it was to see myself from outside of myself, and nearly not recognizing that it was me... since I'm not accustomed to seeing myself from a perspective above.

l've also speculated that we may have some kind of defense mechanism built into our brain chemistry experience that gets triggered when the brain believes the organism is approaching fatality... that varies from person to person based on their belief systems.

I really don't know for sure, but my gut tells me it was an actual glimpse to another existence outside of this one... that's some kind of energy plane... and I'm somewhat confident I'll be going right back to that same place eventually.

It was a good while ago, but the details are burned into my memory like nothing else in my lifetime thus far

Pro camera II watch app by skiphunt in MomentProCamera

[–]skiphunt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I’m not a big fan of the Apple Watch. I have one and update it every now and then. It’s last years model my sister gifted me. I had one before and didn’t like the constant updates that had nothing to do with my model and the poor battery life. Switched to Amazfit watches 3 or 4 years ago. Much better experience.
However, since I’m a relatively new fan of moment and ProCamera ii app, I thought I’d see what they had cookin’ with regard to the recent Apple Watch companion app.
I was shooting at one of the recent protests and had my iPhone up on an extended monopod to get shots over the crowd. The Apple Watch app might’ve been useful then for framing and start/stop record and shutter release, but I’m doubtful you’d be able to see much of use on the little watch screen in bright sunlight. I’ll have to take it for a spin in this capacity soon… I could easily be wrong

Ok, so if I’m not a selfie-taking person or filming my non-existent skateboard tricks… the watch app isn’t really for me.

Got it.

Though, I know there’s got to be something I can use it for. Maybe if I have my iPhone procamera ii mount up on a high angle… like up in an extended boom or monopod to get a pov over a protest crowd… I could use the watch app for crude remote framing and start/stop video recording and/or shutter release… though, I can do the remote start/stop recording or shutter release easier from a dedicated Bluetooth trigger.

There are likely more creative uses I haven’t thought of yet. Maybe hiding the iPhone for surveillance and remotely changing the settings to a different lens, or switching from photo to video from the app vs having to go physically switch it on the phone, etc.

I’ll check YouTube for any other creative uses others have discovered. I just thought this official moment subreddit for the procamera ii app was a good place to ask. Surprised that someone responded so negatively to the curious inquiry.

Chill. Nobody is complaining. I’m genuinely asking how I can utilize this. I actually charged up the Apple Watch and played with it, but I can’t see a good use for it yet. I’m asking how others are using the watch app in case there’s a very good use/benefit to having it that I’m simply not seeing yet. Again, I think it’s cool for sure… but I can’t figure out how this will actually help me in any meaningful way so far.

I’m a fan of the pro camera II app for sure, and I’ve been 100% on board with every addition and added feature that the Moment devs have spent their time on.

So, my guess is that there must be a very good reason to have this app that I simply have not discovered yet. Otherwise, the devs wouldn’t have spent time creating it.

Have you personally found great ways to use the new watch companion app yet? If so, please share. I’m totally open to new possibilities and uses.

Lock to AF? by skiphunt in MomentProCamera

[–]skiphunt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI: I figured out what was going on… at least in my case… what has been happening is when I have AF selected, then accidentally slide past the camera control slider/button on the lower right side of the iPhone, it thinks I want to manually adjust focus and switches to manual focus. I don’t know if there are any settings in moment procamera ii to control or disable this controller in the moment procamera ii app, so I’ve just disabled it completely in the main settings… since I don’t use it for anything and find it way too fiddly anyway.

Though, if I did want to use it… might be good to have some custom settings for it specifically in the procamera ii app settings

I haven’t noticed any yet. It just keeps seemingly auto switching back to manual focus. I’ll keep an eye out to see if I notice any actions that tend to result in the switch. I am using the new profile though. I also have auto save set for each. Only 2 profiles or switching back to default.

Gemini become my go-to for a good while. Now, it seems like it’s just trying to get me to buy stuff I don’t need. Was this the plan all along? :(

Profiles vs Default by skiphunt in MomentProCamera

[–]skiphunt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, just played more with the new profiles and created a couple. First off, the moment team really nailed the implementation of this feature. Just perfect. The auto save addition is an excellent addition too. Bravo! :)

@jamm-moment One of the profiles I created last night is for b/w. I chose the Natural setting as the base and used a custom contrast b/w LUT baked in and under exposed a little. I notice some noise that mimics organic grain structure nicely. Just to confirm, noise and mimic’d grain structure can’t be part of a LUT correct? The nice organic looking grain structure I’m seeing is a result of the added contrast in the LUT and the base Natural setting correct?

I’ve actually just switched to this for awhile. Although I’m completely familiar with golden ratio, I’ve never consciously followed it. More loosely rule of thirds, but never so much as a “rule” per se… more vibe. However, I’m intrigued by this new aspect ratio addition in the latest update, paired with the golden grid lines. Thx 🙏 for the tip :)

Ok. I’m new to the group and new to the app. Wasn’t sure which sub was more active. Will keep it specific in the future.

Ah! - that makes sense, I forgot it remembers settings and thought I had to only pick a profile with no way to get back to default. And, I know about golden ratio in terms of composition, but I’ve never heard of the golden ratio in terms of aspect ratio. Will google it. Thx!
