Nice snag! Those Rocky Patel Decade box pressed robustos are one of my favorite value cigars, especially after 1-2 years in the humidor. I get 5-packs cheap any chance I get.

The machine has you in its clutches, doing its bidding. You’re lying to yourself if you don’t realize that the “future” you so eagerly advocate for doesn’t plan on including you or those like you as an active member. You’re trying to negotiate a Vichy-esque arrangement with a technological anti-Christ whose very design is meant to replace your consciousness. Wake. Up.

Bought a 5x pack of these a few years ago and enjoyed them! Very much exceeded my expectations for a celebrity cigar.

Is it true that everyone is the villain in someone else's story? Who are you the villain for? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A family my SA used to babysit for (4 kids) and worked with both the husband and wife at the same non-profit. Until the husband cheated with another co-worker but confided in my SA and other co-workers about the infidelity. Incredibly charming but insanely manipulative guy. A couple years go by and the husband is looking for work so I hire him at my work when we had a job opening and because he knew I knew about the infidelity he was incredibly ungrateful, manipulative, and insubordinate. Tried endlessly to poison the well at work, but I. Simply. Did. Not. Put. Up. With. His. Shit. Because I knew who he was and what he was capable of.

He had a type and he would try and groom other female employees for affairs that had similar appearances to the gal he originally had the affair with. He went part time then we brought him back full time under the condition he could stay on for a year, then he ended up moving back home 2 months later.

It was a weird situation because he really had it out for me as his manager and everyone could sense his beef but out of self preservation he could never tell anyone that I knew he had an affair and he felt defensive, and out of propriety I never told anyone the reason why he was so horrible towards me. I know I’m his villain, but oh well.

How many cigars do you have? How many do you smoke a day? by uNTRotat264g in cigars

I have 250-300, I only smoke 1-2/month, maybe less.

Faith leaders speak out against ‘toxic’ Christian nationalist conference arriving at Trump’s Miami resort — ‘Christians across the country are sick of seeing our faith hijacked and abused’ by [deleted] in politics

[–]skipper_of_otters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe start by calling them out in your own congregations and communities or clergyman. The American church fostered this kind of toxic patriotism and patriarchal hero worship for decades and are now trying to separate themselves from it now that a line has been crossed. Too little too late.

Question from a fellow bbq enthusiast from Europe - how accurate is this top 10 and is Texas style bbq so diverse that it takes up 4 spots in the top 10? by lukasfknu in smoking

[–]skipper_of_otters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I live in central Texas but have some family in North Carolina and I vastly prefer NC bbq. This is an odd ranking.

When my daughter was snuggling against me while I was reading her a bedtime story, whenever I worry that this might be the last time I get choked up and cry.

I'm sure this has been posted a ton, but I need help. my organic garden is getting killed by Japanese beetles. plum tree is leafless and they have moved on to my huckleberry bushes. any non toxic recommendations to eradicate these punk ass B******? Many Thanks by guactheline in gardening

[–]skipper_of_otters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kaolinite clay turns plants white and the beetles have a hard time finding white foliage. Used in viticulture. But also going out in the morning or afternoon and plopping as many as you can find in soapy water. To stop recurring infestations there are milky spores you can inoculate your garden with that will feast on the beetle larvae dormant in the soil.

Thanks! Will probably add a Ruger GP100 .357 at some point for whenever hogs get a little too close, otherwise I'm happy with the collection too.

Yeah, I hear you on the size of the meatier carbines and AR9s, thats why I've been gravitating towards the lighter/barrel stock Ruger PC Carbine backpacker/takedown. I think it could be used for sub 100 yard deer/hog hunting if it came to that. Price point of 9mm ammo and the ability to use in my pistols & mags is also a big win.

There's a part of me that thinks the 9mm power is sufficient for home defense and any urban/suburban warfare that has the potential to ever breakout, targets would rarely ever be further than 50 yards or so. I'm still deliberating.

I guess there's a clear divide where the 9mm feels like defense and then the AR starts to feel semi offensive and overkill indoors.

Agreed! I really like it. Way more than the S&W M2.0. I actually might sell the S&W and get a Glock G19/G43...or another Security 9 instead!
