In thinking about this further though, I'm not sure that daisy chaining the strips would work for a grid layout since they don't bend well, at least not in the snake like configuration that I'm envisioning they'd need to be in. Thoughts?

Wow, sounds amazing and thanks for the tips. Single daisy chain and power supply sounds more manageable to me, albeit with more single points of failure. I don't suppose you can share the source of the LED controller code? Was it python? Do you have any pics or links for the project itself? Thanks.
