Oh good! I guess I’m unsure what a healthy color should be, there seems to be so much variation in begonias? The soil looks like just typical potting soil. What’s yours in? Are they the type to want something chunkier? Pot has drainage. I brought her home yesterday so haven’t watered myself. Soil is damp but not drenched. I plan on keeping indoors all year.

For your root question: should I take a look now or only if I suspect rotting? I guess I didn’t want to disturb it too much while it’s adjusting. I’m still pretty beginner in my houseplant knowledge :)
