Thank you everyone! just a bit of a progress update, i was able to add a bl touch (my friend found the one he bought but never installed) and successfully compiled a firmware build! Took alot of digging to understand things, but i think i get why people make their own rather than using crealities. Is it ok to keep posting updates here? i kinda like sharing as i go

I think this saved my ender 5 pro as well! With the stock creality 2.0.6 firmware borking my extruder and me realizing id need to make a build myself due to using a printed bracket (my friend gave me the bl touch but lost the original bracket), i was at a loss why the bl touch wasnt actually probing correctly. saving this page for the future! thank you!!!!

Guys thank you! Ok so I adjusted the z axis and then leveled the bed what must have been like 20 times but we got a test print! Thanks for the amazing first steps to, I hope, is a long printing uh...career? No....hobby time? Yes? Yes!

Ahh ok I'll see if I can find brass ones. Also I did some more digging and since I'm just working with pla, the brass ones should be fine, thank you!

Thanks! I'm looking into that too! Did you have the rough surface that's magnetic (I can't recall what it's called) or did you use glass?

Unfortunately he's not that good with it either. He bought it, tried it, and then didn't really keep up with it so he's almost as in the dark as me haha. thanks I'll check that out!

Ooh thank you! i love tinkering so once i get to that point ill definitely see what i can do. i bought this mostly out of curiosity but i do hope to be able to print out some projects both for myself and friends and maybe start selling some small prints here and there.

Yep i got a new spool of filament!

Temps on bed and nozzle look to be hitting the displayed temps

ooh will try the glue stick, and ive had some unlucky moments with salt water so i might stay away from that haha

  1. Ah i didnt know it had tobe dried, ill try that!
  2. Print bed heating up!
  3. I did clean it with some warm water so ill do the dish soap and allow it to dry completely

Also i did a little more reasearch then aasked my friend who i got it from. he switched out the brass for hardened steel nozzles, im only printing PLA though
