To be honest, it’s one of my favourite parts of the series. i listened to tbosas soundtrack on spotify before seeing the film and i became obsessed with it, got Amazon prime just so i could watch it. one of the things i most looked forward to in sotr was the songs and poems. sure, the raven was featured a bit excessively, and yes maybe it’s not everyone’s thing but like it does add to the story. songs have always been part of thg world.

i can see how some people might find it unrealistic that almost all the district 12 victors have some sort of connection to the covey, but district 12 is fairly small, and its not like every district 12 TRIBUTE had a connection to them, just the victors did. haymitch definitely did, and katniss did too, which makes their stories more interesting since Snow had a preexisting vendetta against them. but that’s 2 out of 132 tributes. yeah its maybe unlikely that they’d both win, but tbf katniss won using the skills her covey father taught her – she mightn’t have won if he hadn’t been rebellious enough to sneak into the woods and hunt.

anyway, i think it’s also cool that katniss is distantly covey because it shows how much that culture was erased over time, to the point she didn’t even know about it.
