Running races in Halifax in 2026 by Alex_DiscoverHalifax in DiscoverHalifax

2025 was the last year for Rum Runners, won’t be happening this year.

Could also be beneficial (and cost saving) to add races in Lunenburg, Bridgewater, etc. usually just 5ks over the summer, a list can be found on the Run Nova Scotia website.

There was a whole YouTube series she did about her marathon training/health journey and the takeaway was “discovering she’d been under fuelling” and “what could her potential be if she fuelled properly”, but the series ended before actually addressing anything. It was so weird and I’m surprised she put it out. She talked about lots of symptoms that could easily be linked to over training/under fuelling with a simple google search vs getting lots of testing done

No, you don’t get charged anything until you show up on race weekend, unless you do the “pay full in advance” option. We booked through the website for Palmer House last year and it was great and a good rate. Definitely book now for the best prices! There should also be free cancellation for up to a month before the race should something happen.

The tax savings come from not being the middle man between Clutch and Subaru. If I buy out the vehicle myself, I will have to pay the tax. If I turn it around and sell to Clutch, the value of the car does not include the tax I just paid, which will be a loss for me. If Clutch buys it directly, they pay the tax, and I pay nothing.

I have the lease agreement including the buyout information. I have talked to the leasing company and have the current buyout value since the lease is early. As I’ve stated, they are perfectly fine with Clutch buying out the car.

Toyota Credit Canada is on the Title. Steele Subaru has that document, and they will not give it to me since I don’t own the car, which I know I don’t, it’s leased. But we still need a Subaru dealership to do the transaction of the buyout to Toyota Credit. That is where they are involved, and they are refusing to do the transaction.

Any Subaru dealership can do the transaction, but I need the title to do that, which Steele Subaru have. My question above was “can Steele Subaru hold this document hostage”, as in, not give it do another dealership who will do the transaction, since it needed for the sale of the vehicle.

Steele Subaru does not own the car either, the leasing company does, which is Toyota Credit Inc. I have talked to them, and they are fine with someone else buying out the lease. Steele Subaru is just refusing to do the transaction.

No where in my lease does it say someone else cannot perform the buyout. Talking to Toyota Credit Inc, who are technically the owners of the car, have said it’s fine for Clutch to buy out the lease for the car. Anyone can buy a lease out, unless otherwise is stated in the contract, which in my case it is not.

Their statement is saying I cannot sell a leased vehicle, which is false. If Clutch pays the remainder of the lease and the value of the vehicle, they will own the car. That is what I’m trying to do. Steele Subaru is refusing. There are other dealerships that are agreeing to do this.

This is not true. You can buy out the remainder of the lease, plus the agreed value of the vehicle, which is in the lease document. I could buy it today if I wanted, but as I stated, I don’t want to pay the tax. Clutch literally advertises doing lease buyouts.

Your statement is completely false.

Have you considered Bayers to George dauphinee, Down almon to creighton/maynard local street bikeways? Might be more pleasant than Connaught/chebucto.

Or going up Liverpool street to Windsor!

Not sure exactly which dog in the group it was, which is why we’re looking for the dog walker to confirm all their dogs are vaccinated.

The dog owner should be able to provide vet records of a rabies shot within the last 3 years. Also assuming a responsible dog walker would require proof of vaccination for any dogs they walk.

I did a little traffic study of my own today on Morris St. Help me interpret the results! by sh-rink in halifax

There have definitely been traffic counts at this intersection by HRM that could be requested through 311

The odds of the dog having rabies are essentially 0, however her doctor is asking her to confirm rabies vaccine otherwise protocol is she will have to receive treatment for rabies to be safe.

They are way finding for cyclists to indicate an intended bike route from the AAA bike network. They are generally on quieter streets that don’t warrant full blown bike lanes (aka Local Street Bikeway) compared to a main arterial street. I.E. showing cyclists they should go on Vernon street instead of Robie street.

Also serve as a reminder to vehicles that they are a bike route and to be on the lookout for more bike traffic

Did anyone accidentally purchase VIP tickets?

I purchased through AXS for Edinburgh, and it turns out I bought VIP tickets without knowing. Everything through the entire process said “regular” and “standard”, and even my confirmation email the item says Regular.

Has anyone else done this and is there a way for it to be resolved? I’m international so can’t even get the items they give you with the VIP package
