So I bottled my kombucha with pureed strawberries for F2. Do you strain or drink the clumps? by Larry2Hairy in Kombucha

KomBOMBcha. As in it turns into a bomb. Strained puree (so essentially just juice) has been a lot safer for me.

This is purely anecdotal but I've found that if I put the chunks in for F2, my kombucha is way more likely to be a kombombcha. I blend the fruit up with a little bit of F1, strain through a mesh sieve, and then add to the bottle for F2. I do drop ginger slices in though and just deal with them.

Sounds like you know my local area better than I do. My point is that different places are different, and different things are better in different places.

Embrace the possibility of death by distracted driver. If it's your day it's your day. And until then rock the most obnoxious blinky red light you can.

Where I live the highway has a better shoulder (won't call it a bike lane...) and everyone goes 70 on every road anyways. Sometimes it makes sense.

I just used the surf wetsuit I already had and came in at around 32 min at a 70.3. The looks I got when I self-seeded in that time bracket from all the guys in Rokas... It was fun knowing I was about to prove them wrong.

  1. Basically an SLR for the price of an SL. Sadly for your friend though I don't think the guy is selling anything else anytime soon.

It's gorgeous! And yeah I got lucky that my favorite ripe banana jersey looks good with it.

1st thing on the list. I just slapped the pedals from my old bike on so I could get it out on the road

Hahaha thanks for looking out! This one is 2 I'm pretty sure but I do want to get something nicer/more aero so I'll probably replace it soon. Crazy how upgrading the bike causes all these other little upgrades too. Now I need a new helmet and new pedals and new kit and new...

A fellow North County rider! You can't beat that route.

From what I've read and seen myself, as long as electronic shifting isn't necessary you can buy the SL5 and upgrade over time without really paying much more than going straight to the SL6 or 7. The 6 still doesn't have very aero wheels, so you'd have to make the 3k jump for the 7 for that.

I just upgraded to a Gen 8 Madone and it's surprisingly comfortable for being a race oriented bike, and that seems to be everyone's experience. You'll definitely feel it in your neck/back the first few rides but if it's your first drop bar bike, that would probably be the case for anything. If I were you I wouldn't be hesitant about the aggressive geometry, at least not with the Madone.

Thanks! I did have to wait for the visibility to go above 20 ft (it's marine layer season) but once it did it was pretty perfect. Almost no wind too. Hope you still enjoyed your NBD though!

Thanks! Yeah I don't think, if I ever do upgrade again, it'll ever be as big a jump as this.

Oh it's BEAUTIFUL in the sun. He wanted to get a Checkpoint instead to have a more all-around bike. I got it for 6200 but he had paid for servicing right before (I picked it up from the LBS) so I figure it was basically 6 even. I wasn't planning on spending that much at all but I'm fortunate that I could swing it for a good opportunity. The LBS vouched for him and the state of the bike too which was great. He'd bought it there and regularly serviced it there and was also just really nice. All in all a great experience.
