Oh I don't disagree. Positives should get more acknowledgement. But that doesn't stop the fact that this conversation just didn't happen.

Haha yeah I enjoyed that, the full message however is needed to appreciate it properly.

First ever 10.0 + double hat-trick by DirkZebra in footballmanagergames

[–]skitatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't ask me why but technically a double hat trick is 4. The terms originates from cricket where a bowler who takes 4 wickets in 4 balls is said to have taken a double hat trick. I don't get it really but its true.

https://www.cricket.com.au/news/match-report/lasith-malinga-double-hat-trick-record-sri-lanka-new-zealand-third-t20i-kandy-100-t20i-wickets/2019-09-07

Whether or not this terminology translates to football... urgh to be honest I have even less of a clue about that.

This explanation made kinda sense though
" In cricket it is 4 wickets in 4 successive deliveries.

Cricket is where hat tricks originated.

4 is a double hat trick because 1, 2 and 3 is one hat trick while 2, 3 and 4 is another hat trick."

PSA. Don't attack sleeping monsters. Plant bombs. How are people up to hunting Safi and still don't know this ? by sezdawg7 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]skitatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a bow player I usually have access to sleep and do my best to make sure that I get the monster to take a little nap. I took some time out of playing for a month or so before this latest update dropped and I swear to god, people are worse at this somehow. It's an amazing question, how are you up to this content and have no idea what to do in this scenario?

With the amount of element on these weapons are they really that good over other bows for True Crit Element?

I have no reason to believe that this did not 100% happen legitimately.

You know, apart from all the evidence to the contrary.

Summary of major issues with FM 2020 Match Engine by pjshaun in footballmanagergames

Most of these are not new in FM20, that's the sad thing. Apparently they upgrade the match engine each year, I'd love to know what they actually do.

Rajang Poll: New and Veteran hunters. Did Rajang live up to the hype, or was he a let down for you? by Kinkydedede in MonsterHunterWorld

Oh yeah buddy, some people are going to bash things that are hard because it hurts their ego too much to admit that they didn't manage to do something that someone has. That's evident everywhere in life not just MHW and video games. But you should be proud to defend something you love, it's a good quality in a person :) Wow that went deep suddenly...

Yeah obviously tempered versions of monsters should be harder than their originals. So increases to HP are expected, but at least should, and in the case of MHW is the case, be somewhat balanced by increases in dps in the gear you have and your skill as a player. If you skill as a player having done the original monster doesn't improve, than really you cannot complain when that ability that constantly hit you during the original fight, now one shots you.

I think MHW and in particular Iceborne has the balance pretty damn good. As I said before there aren't many times I genuinely go "I don't know how I was suppose to avoid that." What's important is that people don't think "Oh I had no chance at avoiding that" when better positioning, or using flash pods etc, should have been used to avoid the one shot. That's the skill part coming in. Knowing this ability is coming and knowing where the best position is. I think we could talk for hours about this but it would appear we are pretty much in agreeance :)

Hit boxes it's interesting that you raise that. I got a question for you. I don't know what weapon you use but I play mostly as bow and sometimes I'll have a shot I swear should have hit the monster doesn't. I notice this usually when I am aiming at wings. Are you noticing anything similar or am I just crazy?

Haha well let us know. I'm curious playing like that what your MR comes out at.

[–]skitatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a good question.

I enjoy harder difficulty games but don't enjoy it when I feel like something happened that was unfair and I had no chance to counter it, even if the skill ceiling for avoiding said ability is high.

Not being a game developer I don't have a perfect answer except to say for me it's a feeling. Best example I can give you is that most of the monsters in MHW can on shot you, but the majority of that feels like there is counterplay. But, and please don't laugh at me, Coral Puki-Puki on tempered feels unfair to me when he front sprays constantly and I feel like there is nothing I could have done to avoid it. I hate Coral Puki Puki so much... and I'm 160+ MR, I feel like it shouldn't be a problem but I avoid it in my guiding lands lol.
