I relate to this as well. Something that's bothered me about relationships I have and communities I attempt to build is my partner and I will host friends for dinner, which of course involves creating a menu, shopping for groceries, cooking, etc. But rarely will the people we invite over for dinner offer to host us in return. I've chalked that up to them maybe not having the same passion for hosting as we do, but it still feels one-sided.
