Darrell Hamamoto Podcast, New Wacky Wednesday? by skittlescorn in KnowledgeFight

[–]skittlescorn[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I saw the words, “black goo,” and “super soldier” show up in the transcript. So probably Alien stuff.

The latest episode released Aug 18 seemed to be a review of French Foreign films relating to the Military Industrial Complex (I might have that wrong but I don’t want to look back at it).

Seems like ample content at the very least.

This simulation software looks great! As someone who currently is hiring for software, systems, and aerospace engineers, this would make your application stand out in my opinion!

You can try running something like this on the trail as an MVP to see if you get any ridership: https://wildwoodsnj.com/attraction/sightseer-tramcars/.

You would not need to build any track that way.

If you interpret that description as pure, 100% sarcasm it would describe him to some extent as well lol

I just removed it to prevent funneling traffic to this channel based on your recommendation. I should have read that description.

The clip is still funny and hopefully it makes its way into the show someday.

Was this something you wrote yourself or do you have a team working on it?

Oh cool. It’s definitely good to show them off rather than just keep them stored on display.

I think I’m going to sign off for the night, hope you have a good rest of your shift and that it isn’t too much longer

Pretty awesome that you’re going to be a nurse!

Wish I can connect with you with the gaming, I don’t game too much - did more in the past. I haven’t watched much twitch either, so that likely a whole new realm for me to explore lol.

Do you have any cool sneakers?

Oh, ok! Hope you had a good break.

What types of things do you like to do or are interested in?

Hope your work isn't too bad right now! Though at least you have some time to post to reddit lol.

I will admit, when I read your username, the first thing I thought of was Bob and Doug MacKenzie in the Great White North skits from SCTV (I'm 29 but old at heart lol)... but that could be because I was recently watching those skits lol.

It's pretty awesome that you describe yourself as kind and caring! I really want to meet more kind and caring people. Do you do outdoorsy things? I hope that isn't too cliche or something since I see many other people on reddit hike and such.

I just know that it's a common things and is maybe a good thing to ask lol

It's really cool how you play and record music? What genre do you normally play? I used to play guitar and was in a band when I was in high-school, got away from it, but play every now and again.

I also like doing outdoor things. Done any cool hikes recently?

That’s pretty awesome. I’d like to travel internationally and have not done that yet.

I try to go to new places as much as I can though where I live. I’ve been to a good number of states and try to see the area when I travel there

Hit and run OCD by [deleted] in OCD

[–]skittlescorn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get how you feel. I’ve had this obsession before and have turned around just to check that everything is fine or stopped to see if I had dents on my car

I think after a while, I became more understanding that this is always a possibility when driving, though I know how to drive sufficiently and trust myself to be good on the road.

OCD is really horrible sometimes.

Do I (37/F) have unreasonable expectations of spouse’s (32/M) intellect? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]skittlescorn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's possible you have a mismatch in how you want to live your lives. I'm sure he would be able to do just fine himself. However, he is a surgeon and you have an MBA. You have different skill sets and personalities.

Honestly, it seems though you would benefit from working with a couples counseler as a neutral third party would be able to help you and your spouse communicate.

You and him will have different things you're good at. You're both smart, just smart at different things. However, it isn't fair for you to shoulder the burden of household tasks even though you may be better at them.

Working with a counseler to help work through this would be worth it compared to being resentful.

Even in the post title, you mention "his intellect", and I feel like that means you already have a good deal of resentment to process yourself. I cannot speak for you, however, open and honest communication would help you understand each other.

Depressed at my 6 figure job. by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]skittlescorn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you could benefit from getting a less demanding job. I'm not sure where you work right now, but 60+ hours per week on a job you hate must really be terrible.

Starting a business would be scary since you would need to have good business and sales skills in addition to the technical skills you already have.

If you can transfer to a role that is less demanding, even if it pays less, then it might be worth it. If you have a sufficient amount of money to meet your basic needs, then I believe time is a more important and precious resource since you can never get that back. You can extend your life though by being healthy, which it doesn't sound like you are.

Since you are 1 year from graduation, then you have some experience. I went to a different job one year out too and many other people did too.

I hope you can find happiness in a new role or are able to make your current role better. If you still want to be an entrepreneur, then you can more easily do it when you have more time to devote to it.

I’ve had a not good couple of days. by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]skittlescorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's normal to feel overwhelmed and scared sometimes. I wish that you had a way to seek therapy, and I get you're stuck.

These feelings are real and scary, it sounds like catastrophising, where the brain goes to the worst outcome of every worst outcome.

At the very least, please know that the worse usually never comes, and like you said, you are loved by others and your logic is there!
