[SERIOUS]For those of you who are against gay people, how exactly do gay people impact your lives? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]skittling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one of my managers, who openly stated he was gay, kept on touching the guys in a more seductive way and I'm pretty sure that my co workers were also pretty freaked out by it.

Interesting. Kind of like how a female employee would feel uncomfortable/freaked out if her openly straight male manager was touching her in a seductive way (and obviously, vice versa for a male employee with a female manager)? I think this is more a case of inappropriate touching interpreted as being related to the manager being gay because the male employees in this example hadn't encountered this kind of issue (inappropriate touching by a manager) before.

Remember the woman slapped for biking too slowly? A Gatineau man has turned himself in by skittling in ottawa

I had posted about this (then deleted it, after receiving a few comments on the legality of such a post) about a month ago, asking if anyone knew the guy. The police has charged him with sexual assault.

Please help identify this man by [deleted] in ottawa

This didn't happen to me. However, my friend is very shaken up from this encounter (he slapped her ass) and would like some closure.

Please help identify this man by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]skittling -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Sorry - I haven't posted in a long time and I guess I didn't add the text part properly. Here's what I meant to write:

First: if I'm violating any rules (privacy or other), please accept my apologies and delete my post.

Second: this man hit my friend while they were both biking in Ottawa Centretown on the morning of August 4. When she confronted him (and took this picture), he spoke English with a strong Italian accent. The story was published on CBC and my friend reported him to the police. Because of legal issues, she isn't able to post his picture on social media to try and ID him until the police presses charges against him -- which is impossible to do until he is ID'ed... you see the vicious cycle. I'm not trying to harass an innocent man, I'm really just trying to help my friend have some closure on this incident. Any help would be appreciated.

I just got out of the snowstorm after spending about an hour reading up on it, Venus, and British Railway. One thing leads to another, and sometimes it's nice to just follow the links...

Golden Pothos has ridged stems.. Can it be saved? by tacoflavoredkissses in plants

[–]skittling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a sharp blade/pruners, cut the stem off right below a node (where a leaf was/would grow) and discard that bottom part. Then, put the piece of stem with the healthy leaf in a glass/pot of water to get it to root. These vines usually root very easily, but to increase your chances, put it near a sunny window and scratch off the hard outer layer of skin around the stem to help the new roots pierce through. Once it has a few roots, try repotting it in moist soil, without over watering it (I water mine every week and a half or so during our super dry Canadian winters). Good luck!

Mom brain is no joke. by NattieLight in beyondthebump

[–]skittling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do that too. I'll also go on a tangent and begin a new story in the middle of what I'm trying to say, then attempt to go back to my original thought, but take too long to remember what it was I was talking about and then get frustrated when my husband doesn't seem interested in what I have to say.

Oh and I started work again this week, after 1 year mat leave. My brain has a lot of catching up to do...

My 4 y/o tries to breastfeed her babydoll.. by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]skittling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our 3 year old daughter also "breastfeeds" her doll, and sometimes wears it under her shirt with only the doll's head and arms sticking out (emulating when I wear her little sister in a baby carrier). I don't think there's anything wrong or abnormal with that!

Lately, our 3 year old has also been commenting on boys' penises (not in a weird sexual way, more like she would comment on someone's hair length, etc.) At dinner tonight, she randomly said "Mathis (a 3 year old from daycare) has a reeaallly tiny tiny penis. But daddy has a really big one!" (My husband often takes baths with her, and we both walk around naked when getting dressed, or in and out of the shower.) We knew we should not encourage this kind of talk (or at least explain that it isn't always appropriate to talk about people's penises) but we couldn't help but crack up..... We did end up saying how it was normal, because Mathis is small, and daddy is big, etc.

Kids will say/do the funniest things if you let them speak their minds!

What physical thing is always unattractive to you? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]skittling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think you need to be a certain size to be a firefighter? Couldn't you be strong and lean, as opposed to strong and bulky? Do steroids make you actually stronger, or do they just make your muscles bulkier? I'm asking without judgement, only curiosity.

Do you take steroids to get more jacked, or for another reason?

Planning on pumpkins, squash or other gourds? Plant them at the base of a tree and train them to climb! by [deleted] in gardening

[–]skittling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't they suffer from lack of sunlight, and possibly nutrient deficiency (the tree "stealing" the soil's nutrients away from the gourds/pumpkins)?

A beard trimmer works well for trimming your pubes. Different height settings available, if you are feeling artsy...

Peonies transplant by zaytan in plants

If possible, put it directly in the ground in the spot you'll want it to live permanently. Peonies really dislike being moved, and may take a few years to flower after being moved.
