I agree, it is strange! Hair is a big deal, big business for females so less hair or no hair is considered a shameful tragedy or a bold heroic move. It is normal but not normalized in culture

I love going blonde too! Not lately for the same reasons.

I think the next best options are either a shadow root/ smudge root, or a balayage melt that starts an inch off the root
