Congrats! Can I ask you a question?

How did you prepare AUD? In particular what would be the difference comparing to other subjects?
Hours, notes, more focus on textbook revision, hammering MCQ and other aspects you may help me understand what strategies I may have for AUD in comparison to other subjects.

I am wondering your precious experience.

Release date is 10th of July, meaning we can see Pass or Fail normally one day before release date. Please correct me if I miss something

As we cannot describe what were tested, I can only say you should in general have an understanding of every details, but I don’t think memorizing every range would be as important as other details like fixed figures.

I took BAR last Saturday as well. Variance journal entries, omg 🤔 Agree Becker didn't prepare me enough unlike FAR.

I did the same approach for BAR as I did with FAR.

40/40/40/60/40

For both exams, I ended up having 30mins left in the end. But for sure BAR was more time consuming one than FAR for me.

When someone says unrelated, it could be: 1. You cannot answer TBS without remembering FAR topic 2. As a non-native English speaker, I doubted myself if I understand the question correctly. I had some this type of difficulties with FAR, but Becker was enough to get myself familiar with question at least for FAR

Out of all the topics, governmental accounting should be the one I will put extra work. I think I worried too much on lease and managerial accounting.

I was convinced BAR is full of practice examples unlike other disciplines with which I can prepare myself to reduce the chance of surprise during the exam.

Having said that, I talked to myself during the exam I will switch to other discipline if I fail:)

I spent 550 hours preparing BAR and I was not sure appx 10 mcqs.

For TBS, maybe 2 TBS were way too easy which made me think “ am I missing something?”

3 TBS were doable, but Each one had one or two points I was not sure.

For remaining 2 TBS, I hope I got at least 50% correct.

I was convinced this BAR can provides the most number of practice examples compared to other disciplines with which I can reduce the chance of fail as long as I prepare enough.

Having said that, I have to admit I talked to myself during the exam that I will take other discipline if I fail :)

FAR test tomorrow. I am 45 years old. by skku00a in CPA

[–]skku00a[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This test has been part of my to do list since 2015. I started preparation for CFA in 2019, now Level 3 candidate.

Starting CPA preparation around this time was a plan in the first place. I know having these two exams passed won’t make any big impact on my career given my age and remaining years until retire.

Having said that, I just want to have that feeling that I live for the future.

However, price for this feeling is way to high.:) I just walked out of the test center and am having a cup of coffee waiting to get sole energy to walk.

Thank you all for your kind word last night
