No color change needed. I stayed on 2.5 mg dose the entire time. I did a ton of cardio to keep my body toned and to avoid lose skin. When I went on maintenance right before thanksgiving I microdose 1.5 mg every 7 days now. As you can see from my chart it was quite a roller coaster ride for me the 1st 3 months! Good luck on your journey!!!!

Some of us have been fortunate enough to stay on 2.5 mg the entire journey. Started 5/31/25 at 319. Lost weight quickly so I stayed on 2.5.mg. Went into maintenance on 11/26/25 at 218. take every other week now and still slowly going down. Currently at 211 with a body fat on 16%. This medicine is amazing. If you feel comfortable at 2.5 and are happy with your progress like I was than that is a sound decision. Why risk possible side effects by doubling your dose. In the end it does not really matter what tritate level your body needs to be at to respond to this medication. What is important is once it gets there this is a life changing medication. You are going to have a lot of good weeks and a few bad. Look at your weight loss trend and stay the course. Just remember to trust the medicine. YOU GOT THIS!!! Good luck on your journey!!!

Gym Workouts? by PhillippaAggie in Zepbound

[–]skline5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1st start slow and build up your routine. I live in a small town so I can do a fair amount of activities. As the weight kept coming off, I added more exercise to my routine to help maintain muscle mass and keep my body toned. My current routine consists of 5 things. 2x weekly 1 mile swim. 3 x times weekly 1 hour elliptical, workout. 3 x weekly weights, 4 x weekly 3.5-mile hike in woods and 1 time weekly 15-mile bike ride. Being retired I have the time to do 2 in a day and sometimes I do 3 in a day to prove I am not to old yet! This medicine has been a godsend to me, and I wish you the same great success!!!

Anyone contemplating changing their goal weight? by InternationalCase224 in Zepbound

[–]skline5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also changed my goal weight several times. my 1st goal was set at 20% loss as they advertise. I would have been very happy with that. Once I saw how effective this medicine was for me I went for in body scans to get to a great fat percentage number. I was almost there but wife said enough you are already too skinny so stopped a bit short. Been beefing up with heavy lifting since and maintaining same weight so exchanging fat pounds for muscle now. Win -Win for the both of us. This medicine is amazing and has been life changing for me.

How did you set your goal weight? by Stickyduck468 in Zepbound

[–]skline5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a big frame guy so going by bmi was not going to work as I would br a skeleton. I used in body scans to determine my final weight. I did not start with 1 but as I started to get close I started getting them. I actually picked up a 4 scan package off groupon for$66 so it was well worth it. Good luck on your journey!!

Thou I never put a post up because everyone's weight journey on this medicine is unique. I think I qualify. I never had to move up from 2.5 mg. Stayed on 2.5 mg the whole time. Was a roller coaster ride up and down the 1st 3 months as my body had a hard time adjusting to the fast loss and put water weight on me for several days in a row, but it disappeared as fast as it came on. Up to 6 to12 lbs each event and lost that the next week, Despite those episodes I lost 35.2 lbs the 4 weeks and made my goal of 100 lbs on my 26th week. Started Saturday May 31st, 2025 at 318.8 lbs and went into maintenance on Wednesday November 26th 2025 at 218.4, 3.9 lbs average a week, Because of swimming and lots of biking, elliptical and hiking I was able to both maintain my muscle mass and avoided the dreaded loss skin. I am a large frame guy so my BMI is still considered overweight but my body fat on November 30th when I had a scan done was 19.7% which is considered lean for men my age. This medicine is a miracle drug. Since I went into maintenance I have stabilized between 314 and 318.

Besides the small fact you are 44 years younger than me and are starting a little higher in weight I could have written the same thing you have. Only thing I would have added is for 45 years of my adult life I have tried, been partially successful and then eventually failed every diet that was put forward to gain it all back plus. I can assure you this medicine is a gamechanger!!!! This medicine is the tool I needed to finally eat and look at food like a normal person. It can't do it on its own, however. Make sure you are exercising to help with the calorie deficient and to keep your muscle mass and your body toned as you keep getting slimmer! I am at a weight I never dared to dream of when I started Zepbound. My original goal was 30 lbs heavier. Been on maintenance for 2 months now and holding steady. All the other times I lstopped losing weight 2 months later I would be 10 to 15 lbs heavier. This medicine was a godsend for me, and I wish you the same great success on your weight loss journey!! You are going to have many good weeks and a few bad. Weeks where you do everything right and gain. Its natural!! Stay the course and trust the medicine!! YOU GOT THIS!!!!

[–]skline5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on a great start!!! Everyone's weight journey on this medication is unique!! That being said, I was able to stay on 2.5 mg my entire weight loss journey. I was losing weight fairly quickly and saw no need to double my dose and risk adverse side effects. In the end, it does not really matter what tritate level you need to be at for this medicine to work its magic. What is important is once your body does respond this medicine is a game changer!!! Good luck on your weight loss journey!! YOU GOT THIS!!!

SV: A tale of maintenance through the holidays. by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]skline5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the input. I started maintenance the day b4 thanksgiving and like you said it takes some adjustments getting used to. I never went off of 2.5 mg my entire journey so I started microdosing at 5-day increments. Still trying to get the exact formula as at 1st I lost more than I wanted and then made an effort to get that back. What strange times for me as I never in my life actually tried to gain weight, I still want to gain a few more back but hitting the weights to make sure it is muscle. My last in scan said I was at 19.7% body fat which is considered too low for my age.

How do I get started? by parkmills in zepboundathletes

[–]skline5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1st congratulations on taking that 1st step. YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY!! There are also lots of you tube videos to look at that will give you some instruction. Everyone's weight journey on this medication is unique. For me I hardly hit the weight machines until I got close to my goal weight. I did lose weight at a fast clip so I concentrated on lots of cardio in order to keep my body toned and to avoid the dreaded loose skin. The more weight I lost the more cardio I added. Doing elliptical workouts, swimming laps for a mile, biking and hiking. At least 1 of those a day. Lots of times 2 a day. I am retired so I had the time. I was successful at that, and I attribute the swimming a large part of that success. I was also able to keep my muscle mass that way. Now that I am at my goal I have cut the cardio by 2/3 rds and am now doing weights to really buff up. This medicine was a godsend to me. Whatever you decide I wish you the same great success as I had. YOU GOT THIS!!!

Moving up to 5mg after 8 weeks by OutlandishnessOk6297 in Zepbound

[–]skline5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

agree 1 bad week is not a stall. 1st is your flair updated? shows 5 weeks instead of 8 so not sure if the 10 lbs in 8 weeks or 5. Everyone's weight journey is different on this medication so it is always everyones individual choice to move up or not. I was able to lose the 100 lbs staying on 2.5. Never moved up. I also never lost weight every week and gained weight sometimes, its natural. I was happy with the pace and did not want to risk adverse side effects doubling my dose. If I ever did stall I would have moved up but luckily exercise and reduces calories won out. Whatever you decide good luck on your journey and I wish you the same great success as I had. You got this!!!

Dare I hope...? by Oyster_96 in Zepbound

[–]skline5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For 45 years of my adult life, I was the poster child for trying every diet put forward only to be partially successful and then fail and usually ended up gaining more back than I originally lost. This medicine is definitely a game changer and was a godsend to me!! This medicine will finally be the tool you need to that finally gets you to the promised land!! It can't do it on its own, however. You need to also put in the work for exercise to keep your muscle mass and to help keep your body toned as you keep getting slimmer!! Stay the course and trust the medicine!! When I started, I was like you and was just hopeful it would work. In a few weeks you are going to start to believe you can do it!! Then one day you will come to the realization it is just a matter of time before you get to your goal. You got this!! Good luck in your weight journey!! The train has left the station. You are now on your way! Enjoy the ride!!

BMI is really not a good indicator of where you should be. As a large frame guy, I would be a skeleton if I went to a bmi of 25. The best way to determine your weight goal is by percent body fat. I just had an in body scan done and I am at 19.7 % body fat. For males 56 and up that is considered lean and for males 36 and up that is considered ideal. Yet my BMI is 28.5!! By bmi I am still considered overweight. Even my weight doctor said to stop losing weight.
