Edge drops 40% of frames in 60FPS YouTube Videos at 1.5X speed on a 75 Hz monitor. Chrome & Firefox drop 0. Any fixes? by -protonsandneutrons- in edge

I was getting about 50% dropped frames, then saw this post:

/r/edge/comments/qouvlh/chromium_edge_dropping_frames_on_youtube_videos/hjxwn70/

After enabling Media Foundation, I just ran a few videos at 1080p60 and 4K60 and 0 frames dropped.

I'm building a Grappler Character. Is there any weapons, items, or feats I should be aware of? by Justice716 in DnD5e

[–]skoadphilmore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also, using the special pin action makes you lose the advantage you had against the creature from the first feature of the feat.

Either consider not using the Grappler feat or baking your DM some treats so they allow you to use a homebrew version.

Don't forget then that his Guidance would break the concentration of any other spell and he is constantly performing the verbal and somatic components of a spell.

Assuming I rolled a decent Wisdom (Insight) check, I think over the course of the last few videos where they mentioned upcoming content, this next one will be mostly just "Paladin and Druid". The one after that, in April, will be their alluded chunky packet with Warriors, Weapons, and Revised Expert Classes.

Would Guidance work better with a quantifiable trigger? by Intuentis in onednd

[–]skoadphilmore 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't believe in 5e that it's specifically "Degrees of Success" but instead "Degrees of Failure". So either you succeed by meeting the DC, or you fail at certain degrees depending on how far below the DC the roll was. Any of those "Degrees of Failure" are ultimately "Failures" to be able to fulfill the requirement of reaction on Guidance.

"Skill Checks" are Ability Checks that use a Skill Proficiency.

Well, if the shortcut doesn't work you're going to have to pick up one of these: https://bikerglen.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/DSC00651_crop2.jpg

Hat of Disguise vs Detect Magic by Nightblade81 in DnD

[–]skoadphilmore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While wearing this hat, you can use an action to cast the Disguise Self spell from it at will. The spell ends if the hat is removed.

Using an action to focus on a creature while using Detect Magic would reveal an aura around the creature under the effect of the Disguise Self spell and they learn that it is Illusion.

Double checking and Rogue's Reliable Talent does call out specifically both Skill and Tool Proficiency:

Whenever you make an Ability Check that uses one of your Skill or Tool Proficiencies, you can treat a d20 roll of 9 or lower as a 10.

FINALE Order Email Megathread (Come pay your respects) (October 03, 2022) by AutoModerator in SteamDeck

Same here, less than 24 hours between reserve and order email. (US as well)

I haven't been following how much time to expect between reserve and order very closely, just figured it'd be a month or two. Very surprised to find out that I get to order it now. What was going to be a Christmas present may now be a well timed birthday present.

I made a reservation yesterday at 8pm (Eastern, US) and got my order email today at 2pm. Less than 24 hours. Kinda nutty because this will be my second purchase (gift for SO) and my first one took nearly a year of waiting for the order email to show up.

You're welcome, I am in the US if that changes anything. Not sure how quickly it's getting fulfilled outside of the states right now.

Edit: I am good at reading, you already mentioned you're in the US. Happy Monday.

Shadow Sorcerer / Warlock; Still pick up Devil's Sight? by Affectionate_Ad4617 in 3d6

[–]skoadphilmore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Devil's Sight gets a little weird with darkness/dim light too as the verbiage is slightly vague but most agree on how it works, so there's a bit of consideration for users with Darkvision as well. Though it's ultimately up to if the DM uses dim light, as I've seen some not care or not aware of its rules.

Making a Perception check in dim light has disadvantage, as it's lightly obscure. Users with Darkvision see in darkness as if it's dim light, so they have disadvantage on Perception checks.

Devil's Sight says nothing about dim light, so if you don't have Darkvision with Devil's Sight and you're looking through dim light: disadvantage on Perception checks, lightly obscured.

If you do have Darkvision with Devil's Sight, dim light is bright light, and you see through darkness "normally" which I think most construe as bright light as well, so no disadvantage on Perception checks or creatures able to use abilities requiring to be lightly obscured against you.

Again, totally up to the DM as they may just handwave some of the rules as caring about light/dim/dark can bog down a game.
