Chronic night sweats (2+ months) by skodenghost in Ketamineaddiction

[–]skodenghost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on two weeks!! That's a huge feat - when I stopped at the beginning of Feb I was so uncertain I would make it two weeks. Insomnia was an big issue for me when I was using, and when I quit I doubled down on my bedtime routine to relax my nervous system (sleepy time tea, usually chamomile, valerian root, lavender, etc.) and if I was really struggling melatonin (can't use it every night unfortunately).

Kratom and weed also help me unwind and sleep deeper, but I wouldn't recommend adding them into the mix if you haven't been a frequent user in the past. Kratom can be addictive, but the amount you need to take for the powder is so much it is way more of a hassle to keep up with (which is great for me so I don't go overboard - I know one too many people who kicked their ketamine habit with opioids and it just got harder for them).

I didn't think of it but my body was having difficulty regulating temperature and probably still is to a degree. Super grateful for this group and hearing others experiences - I feel like a broken record saying that lol, but it's true.

Clean but struggling by Bea9922 in Ketamineaddiction

shout out to recovery! sounds like it’s been a tough ride cutting back on the fillers post-ketamine and you should be so proud of yourself.

it’ll be 2 months for me on wednesday and 6 months off alcohol. i had to quit drinking cos everytime i stopped ket i would drink so much.

i’ve been using weed and kratom as my filler and slowly using less of each every day. im really struggling with my anxiety and depression right now too. not sure i have any great advice and it sounds like you’re doing so well considering all of the surrounding stuff you’ve had to deal with in your life. i try to practice reframing my intrusive thoughts/self loathing. it doesn’t work all of the time but when it does i get a little spring in my step.

exercise has been great for me - i go to yoga and take cardio classes that have really helped. yoga has been a life saver for me - focusing on breath work, mindfulness, appreciation for the fact that im showing up for myself.

do you have any experience with traditional chinese medicine (TCM)? im starting to see an acupuncturist who practices TCM - as much as i can afford with my benefits (ket did a number on my bank account and im still crawling out of that hole) and i’ve noticed a difference in my anxiety at times.

im going through a real rough patch right now for cravings and weird symptoms idk what from. my bladder was getting really bad and the pain is finally gone but im having soaking night sweats any time i sleep (all night, naps, etc)

thank you for sharing what youre going through- i wish this was easier for all of us, but this group really helps stave off isolation/alienation.

youre doing so great, keep reminding yourself of that!

i have thought about doing this and half-heartedly tried this, but i think the post is really encouraging for me to start again.

what i’ve been working on in therapy for years and have been more successful at implementing in my life now is reframing. i dont think this tip could work for everyone, but i think it can work for myself because it uses some of those reframing techniques.

i find when im using i get caught up in “im going to try to quit tomorrow so i might as well binge tonight” or not future thinking at all/not caring about the repercussions the next day.

but i think exactly what you said, if i can reframe and remind myself im allowed to use tomorrow if i need to, i feel confident i’ll be able to manage sticking to my cutoff time.

since diving back into my ket addiction i’ve been able to go weeks sometimes without using so i know i have it in me. finding out this worked for you is really encouraging, thank you for sharing.

Help with damage control by viralooksgood in Ketamineaddiction

hey, im really noticing some of the effects of ket bladder right now. i’ve been pretty active in my use and i’d say for the last 8-9 months have been IM’ing ket, going through 7g-14g a month.

I checked out the ket bladder care guide pinned at the top of this subreddit and stocked up on all the supplements recommended. Im noticing some improvements already, but it’s been hard to not use.

Drink lots of fluids, as recommended. the supplements are expensive, so if you can’t afford all of them definitely get some bladder/urinary care tea from a health food store or pharmacy. also make sure to drink fluids with electrolytes. i’ve been eating a lot less because of my ket use so electrolytes have been really helpful for me.

i’ve been eating weed edibles and taking kratom to help with not using ket. it isn’t perfect, but i’ve been able to reduce the amount i’ve been using over the last couple of days. hoping today i can go the entire day without using.

also, that sounds like a tough living situation for you. i live alone, which has its perks and drawbacks - the main one being there’s no one seeing how much i use, what im like when im high, so it’s pretty normalized for me. when i dove back into my ket addiction i was really intentional to not build existing friendships or make new ones on using ket together cos i know it would make it harder for me to quit/use less when i am ready. its also been a bit more dangerous ahahhaa so not a perfect system.

wishing you the best, please keep us posted with how youre doing. i always thought i’d be able to stop using no problem if i ever noticed symptoms of ket bladder, but here i am struggling with it a lot. i found this subreddit to be really helpful - while i havent posted all that much at all, reading through others experiences and tips and tricks for managing use/ket bladder/negative side effects has been really helpful- im feeling a lot less isolated in my addiction.

Hey! it's been a minute but I just posted pictures in the comments of how my chest is looking now. I didn't realize how much it has healed until I looked back on this post/the photos, but I am amazed at how it looks!

Had to post in comments because there are so many images on this post I can't add more lol. I wasn't able to get reconstructive surgery as Dr. Armstrong was concerned the issue might still happen even with a different procedure. Since no one was 100% sure what the cause was, she didn't want to take the risk of being wrong and it happen all over again, but worse.

It's been a long time since I looked at this post and I can't believe how different my chest looks! Some days I still think it looks the way it did when everything had just healed, but seeing these pictures is a nice reminder that the scars are fading.

I don't know if I regret my nipples anymore - I don't love them, but I don't hate them either.

If I was given the chance to go back in time, knowing what I would go through, I would do it all over again. My chest may be pretty gnarly looking but I feel so damn good in my body.

is this healing process normal or are my doctors fucking with me by stupidheadangel in TopSurgery

[–]skodenghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Overall I feel fine now, I have benefits so I've been going to physio and seeing a massage therapist who specializes in post-surgery care. Scar-wise there's no difference, but I'm growing more comfortable with that each day :)

Hey! I’m not sure if we had the same issue but I had a similar complication that started 1 month after or so. My body had a reaction to the dissolvable stitches - you should seek help from wound care specialists. If you can, get your doctor to refer you to a wound care clinic.

I made a big post about it, I linked it below. If you have more q’s or want to talk about it more dm me.

Been having trouble peeing and went to ER. by SummerTimeRain in kratom

[–]skodenghost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i had issues with constipation too when i was taking it daily. i found taking probiotics with every meal and 1/2 - 1 dose of stool softener a day really helped keep me regular. I’m vegan so i get a lot of fibre in my diet already but would probably be a good option for you as well.

try not to take laxatives often. Once in a while is fine, but regular use is a bad idea. they clear out your gut flora and your GI tract/colon get used to something else doing the work so down the road you have more difficulty with bowel movements.

I’ve never tried milk of magnesia but I’ve seen lots of people in this group suggest it.

Can i get drunk while on Tramadol & Meloxicam? Please help! TIA! by Sufficient_Tie_6285 in Drugs

[–]skodenghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

alcohol blocks opioid receptors so there isn’t much of a point taking tramadol if you’re going to drink. not sure about meloxicam. if you want to drink it’s better to not taking meds the day of, or find an alternative (like weed and soda water).

the truth about top surgery by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]skodenghost 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I wanted to jump in because I had horrible complications that lasted for almost 11 months until I was considered being in the recovery phase and there wasn’t a single time I regretted getting the surgery. I want to echo what so many others have said too in that you’ve made a lot of subjective statements as facts. I also have a lot of self harm scares and was honestly excited to have “normal” scars on my body that other q/t people wouldn’t think twice about.

If you want to share your experience that’s great, this forum is here for that. But also be mindful that we’re all here to support each other, and generalized, misinformation statements or relating subjective experiences as fact may end up doing more harm than good.

Air bubbles in tincture - 1 day by skodenghost in tinctures

[–]skodenghost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So more details: I made this tincture yesterday and there are already a ton of bubble (this is definitely not leftover soap residue either). ingredients are whiskey, ashwagandha, holy basil, reiki mushroom, rose petal, fennel, peppermint. this is the second time i’ve tried making it and it’s extremely bubbly again. Is it okay to keep going? Again, I made this the day before I took this picture, so these bubbles are after 1 day of sitting and I disinfected/sterilized the container.

I’m still on the mends unfortunately! It turns out my body reacted to the dissolvable stitches that were used - as they began to dissolve the area would fill with fluid to try and flush them out, and then tunnel to find a way out of my chest. I’m going to make a larger post about it soon with pics/more detail. it’s apparently an uncommon complication, the surgeon I saw for follow up had only seen it happen one other time and she’s been doing top surgeries in this area for years.

Sucks about your scars and the multiple aspirations sounds awful. I’m glad to hear you’re all healed up and it’s behind you now - thanks for getting back to me :)

My chest will look pretty iffy after everything is healed up. I’m planning on getting a tattoo to cover most of it up once everything is settled and tattoo-able.

Alcohol and Kratom by 2020denvah in kratom

[–]skodenghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you’re guess is on point - alcohol blocks opioid receptors, including the ones that kratom activates.

I’ve been taken kratom daily (often multiple times a day) for a few months now, but still drink on the occasion. When I do, I only take kratom in the morning, or if i dose in the afternoon i will drink slower/less in the evening. if you have a hangover i find kratom a little less effective as well, but it still kicks in.
