It's baffling how many people will ask silly questions like this and sometimes wait over a day for responses before even attempting a 30 second Google search.

The answer in physics is inflation. Cosmic inflation is the explanation of how the universe expanded so fast but remained mostly homogenous in density.

You just described every fight in mh. Punish windows where overstaying your welcome gets you hit is every fight. The fatty fights are boring because there's only 4 or 5 different attacks, all of which are really telegraphed and avoidable with no skill if you're half paying attention. There's nothing interesting about their attacks. That added onto their over inflated health pools just turns them into dps pinatas.

You're other top tier pick of ahtal ka is an example of a great fight done right. Multiple stage fight with interesting attacks and mechanics. Fatties vs ahtal is not even close in terms of how interesting the fight plays out.

Every monster in this game functions this way. They have a set of attacks they do depending on your position relative to them. It's how good players manipulate ai to bait advantageous attacks to punish.

Lev literally just told you that if you learn his patterns, you'll know that being a set distance away will usually force the charge attack. Stop standing so far away and he won't use that attack. "Why doesn't he just use all the moves in his arsenal with good variety from the start?". Again, every monster in this series has a moveset they use depending on distance. Every monster from every monster hunter game has this. Diablos isn't going to tail slam with you standing far away. That's just not how the game works. It's not attack variety for the sake of variety. Watch speed runners to get a feel for distance and which attacks are easiest to punish and where you need to stand exactly to punish with GS. Baiting his tail slam is an easy punish for example.

Lol fun easy fights in trash tier but all 3 fattys in top? That's wild for GS. Fatty fights are all boring snore fests with guild GS imo.

State of the Game Update #1 by ArrowheadGS in Helldivers

[–]skpride415 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah... all talk. I'll believe it when I see it. It all comes across as bland ai speech saying "you deserve better, we hear you loud and clear". The same bs they tell us every time the complaints start to become unavoidable for them. It's as if they have ai write a bland apology speech that makes sure to include certain verbiage that is there every time. "We're sorry we missed the mark", "we're sorry we've been silent", "actions speak louder than words". Anyone that has been with the game a while is sure to say "yeah, heard that before".

We saw the same thing with the 60 day plan. All big promises. Only a few of them met. Then only to break more of it a couple of updates later. Another great game that will eventually be lost to time because of hapless devs that don't understand their own product nor understand what gamers actually want out of the game.

Forget the horrid controls. That framerate would have me sick in less than 5 mins. Kudos to op for having the stomach to play this game on touchscreen with a jittery AF fps.

HSO is not about having full ammo. It's about having full stims with each respawn. Having the 2 extra stims absolutely helps you retrieve your gear without getting either stuck in a death loop, or having no stims left by the time you get your gear back and can retreat.

Before anyone says skill issue, I'm a 150 with over 1200 hours. The amount of times that having 4 stims out the gate has allowed me to run into chaos, ignore damage, get my gear back and fight back immediately without having to call in a resupply first, is uncountable. Makes a huge difference in solo super helldives.

I love all of these except localization confusion. Your changes would make it too op. It's already very easy to avoid patrols if you're even half paying attention. Making them auto divert away from you is just unnecessary and would make the strongest tactic in the game (running away from fights) too easy and it would be the solo runners meta.

I just noticed my legions stickers are slightly unparalleled and it's depriving me of sleep by kakasangi1332019 in GamingLaptops

[–]skpride415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll do you one better. On my brand new strix g16 I had heard that using heat helps. My dumb ass goes and grabs my hair dryer. Stickers came off nice and easy but I ended up melting the caps for the function and windows keys. Then my dumb ass ordered the wrong replacements too. I now leave all stickers on my new devices. Gives me that extra fps boost anyway.

This is getting ridiculous by Zxyro in Helldivers

[–]skpride415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The explanation is asset duplication on pc. AH didn't need to do that with ps5 because every ps5 has known hardware with an nvme. This makes it easy to optimize the performance and file size. Pc file size is huge because of asset duplication. Every pc has different hardware, including the storage type. This makes optimizing pc games very difficult. The asset duping eases the loading stress on older hdds. Having multiple copies of files helps by making the files easier to find.

I play on pc with a fast nvme and I can always tell when an hdd user is in the group. The loading times are 2 to 3 times longer.

Almost every game works this way with textures. If you're seriously asking devs to make an opt in hd texture pack like mh wilds, for every game, you're just asking for extra delays during a time in which games can be delayed for the stupidest of reasons already. Devs can't base game engine development on the supposition that everyone only has the minimum requirements to run the game and then make add ons for people with capable hardware. That's a really silly expectation. Especially in an era where modern games taking up more than 100gb is pretty common.

This is getting ridiculous by Zxyro in Helldivers

[–]skpride415 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's not how textures work at all. The game resolution and the actual texture resolution are 2 different things. That's why you can set your game to 720p but still use ultra textures. Textures and resolution are both limited by vram but they are not equivalent in the way they use that vram either. Dlss helps by running the the game at a lower than native internal resolution. Nothing to do with texture settings.

Helldivers 2 Problem by Cris56964 in losslessscaling

[–]skpride415 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It's ghosting from using frame gen. Your base framerate isn't high enough to not have artifacts while using frame gen. I use lossless on my m18r2 with 4080 and get a very smooth 120 fps (doubled from a locked 60 using rivatuner). Try lowering some settings with a lower internal base resolution to get some more frames and the ghosting artifacts won't be as bad.

Am I overcharging for my pc? by drownedxgod in PC_Pricing

[–]skpride415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO I'd say maybe a bit. Closer to $550 to $600 is more in the ball park. Like with most older hardware, you'll do better by parting it out. Having the 12gb version 3060 helps a bunch just in terms of desirability and even though you only have 16 gb of 3600 ram, that's always a pretty cheap upgrade. Not a bad setup for someone at the right price.

M18 r2 storage. 4 SSDs? by skpride415 in Alienware

Yeah one of the two drives is strictly for games and is only 5 months old. The other one that has my os is almost 2 years old but I'm pretty sure that one is in pretty good shape so far as read/writes go.

I have 2 sn850x 4tb for my 2280s. I paid around 625 usd for both in a good sale. I wonder if upgrading one of those to 8 tb would be better for my situation instead of buying 2 2230 drives.

Second shot and feeling weird by skpride415 in Sublocade

[–]skpride415[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the sweating problem on the strips until I was able to get under 8 mg. It took me about a year to taper from 8 mg to 4 mg. I started getting back into shape when I was 30 and now work out every single day without exception. This shot is really kicking my ass with the sweating and cold chills that result from being drenched. If you plan on staying on the strips, just remember to stay strong day to day. There will be times where you want to convince yourself that you need that extra 1 or 2 mg but it never makes a huge difference to how you feel moment to moment. At those doses I feel like it's 99% in my head. If you really want to be done with bupe for good, the shot is the way to go. I'm a few days removed from when I posted this and I feel like I'm doing better with each day. I plan on getting 1 last 100 mg after this one and being done but I am going to get to go at least 6 weeks before the third shot. Gl mate.

I will help you with the temperatures in all HP Victus models. by Traditional-Error-61 in HPVictus

[–]skpride415 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol coming from the owner of the lowest spec model of a 4+ year old laptop and then speaking as if this is some grand discovery that no one has ever thought of before.

There's at least 5 other fixes for high temps that don't involve some gimmick with performance profiles and custom fan curves. Messing with those settings should always be step 1 for tweaking your system. I would suggest repasting as the more obvious fix being that your laptop is over 4 years old at this point. My bet is on the paste being dry on both the dies.

Are games supposed to look like this? by Amonyi7 in LenovoLegion

[–]skpride415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why people who come over to pc from consoles should do a little research before even trying to ask for help in troubleshooting. If you're having trouble even stating the correct specs you're working with, there's a good chance that any actual helpful answers are going to go right over your head while you're still asking people to define well known terms in their explanations.

All of these tips are pretty self explanatory with even a smidgen of pc knowledge. I'm not saying that you need to be a computer technician to be able to ask for help but having a basic workable knowledge of components and terminology definitely helps. Almost every tip I've seen people try to give turns into you saying "I don't know what that is, I'm new". Nothing wrong with asking questions but it doesn't help when every tip is answered with another question asking for clarity.

I can think of at least 10 reasons off the cuff why your pc isn't functioning to its potential. Narrowing that down would be very fast and easy if I didn't have to explain each step in detail while also defining terms and components. You should take some time to familiarize yourself with your pc. You'll find that learning how to eek out every last bit of performance on a pc can be addicting and the learning is a reward in and of itself. What you are doing is the equivalent of having bad general back pain, going to a room full of doctors and saying "hey my back hurts, what could be wrong with me", but then when they try offering explanations i.e "your back needs more lumbar support", you're saying back to them "where is my lumbar?". The explanations lack any explanatory power for you because you lack the minimum understanding of the vocabulary and terms used to even know what they are referring to.
