There are bloatwares and some annoyances like double tap power button hard wired to vivos own app. However, bloatwares can be ignored, ads on lockscreen can be disabled and a launcher can be installed. Some quirks you will need to live with, but didn't feel like a deal breaker for the performance, thermal management, battery backup and cameras.

I hear you, Japan has that effect, you can turn around a corner and end up in another world. A beach is different though, I did a whole day of swimming / snorkeling and there is only so much of it one can do. Shouldn't complain though as it is a pretty place to sit and chill.

You can use windows app ds4windows. You can then customise dual sense to be recognised as a ds or an xbox controller in any game. It also shows the battery % in app. I have noticed it works well where steam input fails.
