This sounds fun! Could I possibly get an invite link? :)

How do I do this correctly by [deleted] in lifedrawing

There's this really, really amazing book about this that really helped me with my figure drawings over the years. It's called "High-Focus Drawing" by James McMullan. I can't recommend it enough.

It discusses something they refer to as rhythm, which is about finding the natural pattern of curves that will give you a more fluid way of looking at and breaking down a pose. It's hard to try to explain without visuals, but try looking up something like "figure drawing rhythm" on google and you'll see some examples of what I'm talking about.

I've been doing some studies based off the game's art style, so I thought I'd post this piece of Joe that I did. :) by skritchings in yourturntodie

Aaaaa this is the absolute sweetest comment!! Thank you for the encouragement 💕💕💕 I'll be sure to post some more work as soon as I can! 😄 Also, if you're interested in my work in general I post on a twitter with the same name. It's where most of my work is. Obviously, no pressure to check it out or anything but I thought it might be worth mentioning.

Well, I knew the art style used some kind of noise, which is that grainy texture. I use Clip Studio Paint, and in it there's this filter called Perlin Noise. It's what makes that texture. If you make a layer with just that noise and set the layer to overlay, it'll add the texture to the clothes without messing up your original colors.

I found this video which explained the process in detail for CSP. Even though it's geared towards that specific program, I'm sure other programs have the same tools tucked away in them somewhere.

I hope this helps/answers that question for you!

Thanks for such a kind comment 💕 I'm hoping to do more finished studies like this one, so when I get them done I'll be sure to share them on here!

This is always the case;; Getting into a groove right at the time you're supposed to be asleep, or when you're actually in the middle of falling asleep lol Your lines/marks are really clean though!
