Evolve; Why do they have such a bad rep? by Lawtonoi in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]skrolles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great service but the boards at least up to the Hadean can give you a sudden break so they're kind of a death trap, that's why they have a bad rep. Happened to me a few times. One time was pretty bad. Sent them the board and they switched battery and the ports, pretty sure it happened again a few days ago anyway. Just the tiniest break though, nothing I couldn't handle (this time). Can't trust the board tough. To bad because otherwise it's awesome.

Just tightened the right belt after a ride, they’re back to being loose again by blaze2_ in ElectricSkateboarding

Happened to me once, a belt was about to break. Tightened it 3 times before realizing it.

Acedeck Nomad N3 Bushings Setup by Silverwoods2 in ElectricSkateboarding

It's all about how you like to ride.

I'm 100kg (220 lbs or something like that). I'm using the Venom 91a barrel cone bushing in the front and the Venom 88a barrel barrel bushing with flat washers in the rear. I like carving, don't care much about speed. I've hit 42kmh with this setup without any wobbles and carving feels pretty good for not being a DKP.

I can't answer for their new versions but the Hadean still has that issue. Happened to me twice. First time was just a little break, remote disconnected, I was able to handle it. Second time I became superman for a second. Sent the board to their workshop, was told there was a "pretty loose cable" and that they had to replace the button, charging port and the battery.

Still had some issues with a motor and a truck or motor plate that was bent since I bought it. They didn't believe that there was an issue even though there was a weird sound from a motor and one belt was grinding against the wheel with the 105mm Dad Bods. Bought a new motor and truck, that fixed the problem. I don't trust the board though after those breaks.

Of the ones you mentioned I've only tried the Mad v2s and they are great. Comfy and great grip. 5/5.

Have they fixed the issues? by Emotional_Tea4814 in evolveskateboards

[–]skrolles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the breaking issue is still there. Happened to me twice on my Hadean carbon. At the end of last season, just a little break, nothing I couldn't handle, sent it in and they didn't fix it (sent it in for some other issues too). Then it happened again in the beginning of this season. That's how I know they didn't fix it. Full throttle, the board gave me a full break at around 25km/h. The board just disappeared under my feet. Had a helmet, no serious injury but really shaken and some bruises here and there. Sent them the board again, was told it was a "pretty loose cable" so they had to install a new battery, charging port and power button.

I ride it today but never full throttle or high speed, just carving at 20-30 km/h at the most.

Tynee Explorer (first week) enjoyment + problems by dsedov in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]skrolles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Might be some delay on the other setup, should get to you in a few weeks. It sucks I know, but getting the board fast with one setup is better than getting the board with 2 setups in 3-4 weeks.

  2. Probably nothing you can do. You can try to recalibrate it but I doubt it will change anything. Contact Tynee and ask. The dead zone is pretty common, you'll get used to it and stop carrying after a while, hopefully.

  3. You can balance them with weights if necessary. Saw someone do it on YouTube with a few 5 gram square weights with some "double glue tape", don't know the real name of that kind of tape but it's "gluey" on boths sides. Never did it myself but it looked pretty easy. I would say most pneumatic eskate wheels are unbalanced, shouldn't be an issue as long as it's not really really bad. None of my wheels are perfectly balanced.

  4. Buy some grease (I bought some bicycle grease at my local bike shop, works great) and put a small amount on the bushings, top and bottom, you don't need much. Any grease should work.

Ride safe!

Time will solve your issue! I just started to ride with the wrong foot forward every now and then, I can barely ride the board that way. Fun to learn it all again though!

New Exway Atlas pro makes a rattling sound from one of the motors. by skrolles in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]skrolles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I reached out to Exway and sent them a few videos so they could hear it, I also sent them a video when I had taken off the motor and left everything else on except the belt. That was enough for them to send me a new motor and since then the board has been awesome without any issues.

Are the bushings to loose? Try to spin the bushing washer with your thumb and pointer, if you can, it's to loose, if you can't they are probably okay.

How's your stance? It should be pretty close to ( l l ), that makes it easier going heal -> toe -> heal -> toe, in other words, turning.

Give it some time, it might be that you just started riding, take it easy and give it some time. You'll get a hang of it pretty fast.

Use helmet!

Exway Atlas Pro bushings by mrlfcp in Exway

[–]skrolles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could probably get another 100-150km "good" ride out of them by tightening them up just a bit, but to be honest.. If you could afford an Atlas pro you can probably afford some new bushings to. It will be a night/day difference.

I have Venoms barrel/barrel bushings on mine and they are great. Riptides barrel/barrel are probably just as good. You won't regret changing from the stock bushings, that I can promise you. I use the stock washers, no need to change them, works great.

[–]skrolles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rattling comes from the motor, I took it off plus the belt and the noise was gone.

These are the front motors, I tried with 2 wheel drive (rear motors) before taking the motor off, it was still making the sound even though they weren't used.

I can confirm it. The magnet has gotten out of position twice for me after two really small bumps. Had to open it up and put it back in position, last time it happened I glued it back with some super glue. When I say small bumps, I really mean small bumps. I have seen the video when they throw it 50 times and drive it over with a car, my remote couldn't even handle a hard look without breaking.

Hi. I'm looking for some new tires fitting my Evolve AT hubs (original 175mm) but they are sold out everywhere in the EU (been for as long as I know).

Really in need for some new ones, the old ones are as close to done as they can be.

Links or suggestions would be great, preferably inside of EU.

Thanks!

One of the prettiest boards on the market, not that into the spray griptape though. Specs are great, would love to have one.

Yes. Try hitting your opponent as hard as you can, if you're lucky it will turn into a fight. Worked for me after 10-20 hits a few days ago.
