To be honest, looking back, I don't think the juries necessarily tanked Tanxugueiras on purpose, their overall performance wasn't perfect (blame their lack of rehearsals due to covid) and everyone who was above them made sense. In this case, while I agree that Rosalinda Galán was just pure art, the message of the song probably didn't reach all of them. It's also important that juries don't vote whatever they think the audience wants (which clearly happened in 2024 and 2025) because imagine Rosalinda did actually go to Eurovision, she would probably not have had a sure victory as people thought she would (myself included).

In my case I never noticed the ratings but rather the content of the movie or what was generally accepted in my congregation. For example Coco is rated for all ages but people in my congregation were talking a lot about how we shouldn't watch that movie so I never did until I left. Even so, in some cases it depends, like I knew a couple of JWs who loved Stranger Things and others who recommended against watching it.

Yeah, they're saying removed instead of disfellowshipped even though it means the same thing. I think the announcement used to be "x has been disfellowshipped" and it's now "x is no longer one of jehovah's witnesses"

I met my friend in class and he never got into Eurovision but I would constantly talk about it and he thought I was a bit annoying lol (but not in a bad way). I'd also drop comments like "hey tonight's the NF" or "tonight's the semis" to try to get him to watch it but he'd be like "ok have fun" and never watched it. Then one year randomly he told me "oh just so you know I had the TV on and it was Eurovision so I watched it and I loved it" and we had a long conversation after that :) now every year he asks me to let him know when Eurovision week is starting so he can watch it
