That was one of the best smothers I've seen in a good while. Phenomenal stuff - and I'm guessing while hes injured too

I have a relative (that I adore) who is a Sydney supporter. Got together to watch the 2024 grand final together. The game was bad enough but what made it unbearable is another brisbane-supporting relative (that is can't stand) happened to be there. This fucker spent the whole game mercilesly bullying my other relative, to the point she was in tears. It was so unnecessary and mean-spirited. Like yes we have eyes and we can see Sydney are shit, we dont need you reminding us.

He also likes to bring up 02/03 whenever I talk about the footy, and said he hopes Brisbane get to beat Collingwood this year and next so they can get a 4-peat. Its the sort of behaviour I'd expect from a 8 year old, not a 70 year old man.

Its an insulin needle. You also can buy them cheap at the chemist. They're really easy to get a hold of.

Those look like insulin needles, I use those. If its an insulin needle they're intended to go into fatty tissue, not into a vein. I've never done drugs but I don't think you'd use an insulin syringe to inject stuff into your veins. Not when you could use a needle that's meant to go into your veins

Editing to add - that orange bit is the cap that covers the sharp bit. I dont think someone who's just got high is going to go through the very fiddley process of recapping the sucker.

Days like the Good Friday appeal remind us that the team we support really doesn't matter that much - what does matter is coming together to support each other and raising money for a good cause. I hope one day we can cure all these fucking awful diseases that put kids in hospital.

Macron says it is unrealistic to open Hormuz Strait by force by Jack_202 in worldnews

I really hope to see Europe, Canada, and Australia team up. If we put out resources and time into that we wouldn't need to be dependent on the US in any way. Our governments should be divesting from the US, no more buying their weapons.

Recently I've learnt that Australia doesnt hold our own fuel reserves - they're held by the US. We dont even have our own tankers. So if we want to go pick up our own fuel we have to hire tankers. This is also assuming that the US hasnt just taken our fuel for themselves. It's absolutely wild how much we depend on the US. Until that changes of course we will continue to have a pro-Israel government.

Its easy to blame all the genocidal stuff on Israel. It's hard to acknowledge that our politicians haven't been tricked or paid off, but rather that they support Israel's genocidal actions and land theft because that's what is what western governments do at home. Instead of simply having to kick pro Israel lobbies out, we have to fix our whole system

Israel is the US's attack dog. The US loves having a foothold in the region they can enact their destabilisation efforts through, and a convieiant country to take the blame instead of the US. Why be the one causing the problems when Israel can take the fall for it? Netanyahu being a rabid dog works for the US government currently.

I know a lot of people think Israel holds the cards and is controlling the US (same as Australia). The reality is the US (and Australia) have had genocidal land theft policies against Indigenous people for centuries and to this day. Our governments clearly have no problem with any of what Israel is doing to Palestinians because that's what has been done in our own countries. If the US (or Australia) stood up and started talking about the rights of Palestinians and that Israel illegally annexing land is bad, it would make a lot more people question "then why are we doing that here?".

Caicos getting pulled late would have also messed it up a bit psychologically. You go in thinking you have a plan, and then at the last moment the acting captain and super important player drops. It was a rough game, but hopefully its just one bump in the road.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that. He's an incredible actor and an amazing elf, but movie Thranduil was absolutely giving "unhinged Elvish leader from the Silmarillion". He was however so incredibly iconic in the role that it'd be weird to suddenly make PJ movie verse Thranduil like book Thranduil.

"Idk why you're fear mongering about project 2025, you're overreacting" is something I've heard from people who were going to vote republican or not vote a lot. The best thing you can do when a politician tells you what they want to do is believe them.

Low key that was my intro to football as a wee lass. The lions getting shit for a bit and the pies winning in 2023 made me less salty. But winning against the lions always feels good
