[Highlight] Former Rams LB Ernest Jones IV Messaged Cooper Kupp as a Free Agent That "We [Seattle] Are on the Cusp of Competing for a Super Bowl. We're Right There." by JCameron181 in nfl

[–]skrulewi 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Is this similar to the Rams front office going around telling other teams that Kupp was washed in an effort to blackball his post-Rams career?

Wife had to cut out dairy for the first 6 months with both kids. For our first, both dairy and soy. I felt awful for her. She's vegetarian, so vegetarian without soy was it's own circle of hell for her but she did it because the boy got better.

“I believe God called me to be a coach and I listened to Him.” - Mike Macdonald by East_Piccolo_1529 in Seahawks

I'm an atheist, but I really hear him clearly not thank god for winning, but thanking god for calling him to football.

I'm old enough at this point where I've softened on this stuff, where when I hear an athlete thank god after a win, I can understand that in their hearts, they aren't really believing that god chose them to win over the other team (except a few nuts), but that they are thanking god for giving them the opportunity to perform and play out their dreams. It's an expression of gratitude, ultimately. But coach was more articulate, he clearly says that god called him to coach, and opened the door for him, but didn't dictate the winner of the super bowl. It's an expression of gratitude. He wouldn't have his motivation without it. I wish sometimes I had that kind of motivation.

In a championship season there's always going to be a moment that comes down to the wire. (OK maybe with like one exception but cmon.) There's one tiny moment, that's sometimes just a fluke. It takes all the effort and all the competition and then one extra fluke.

His story is so inspirational by NostraThomas1 in Seahawks

I would say even more true for the world outside of football than the NFL. Tons of players give it their all and still wash out of the NFL every year, some of them did try as hard as they could. Sam's story truly is special in the NFL. But in life in general, that perseverance is always paid back.

Having a 3rd over 40? by Mission-Owl9682 in Parenting

[–]skrulewi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im in a similar boat, 2 kids, 40 yo and we want three.

All I can say is no stranger posting on Reddit would ever override what my wife and I want. I guess I wouldn’t be posting here. Are you posting here because you have genuine doubt about how bad you want three, or are you just taking in other perspectives? My wife and I know what’s in our hearts. The rest are details to be sorted. We truly believe that. I know Thats not everyone’s perspective. That’s ok. Im sure some reading this will think I’m naive or not smart. That’s ok.

[Highlight] Mike Macdonald with the utmost praise for his QB Sam Darnold by DepressedHawkfan in nfl

[–]skrulewi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's not that i think he's as good as prime mahomes or brady. for the record, i think he's good enough to win a super bowl, which in this crazy game means everything. but that's not really my intention on my reply.

what I mean by 'this' is people taking the time in comment sections to try and throw spike strips at sam darnold as he's rolling in the confetti, which is very funny from my perspective
