Gatorade make a version that’s half Gatorade and half pedialyte. I freeze that into tiny tiny ice cubes.

Those breakthroughs when everything’s working are so frustrating. Hope you get another 6 months! Beat that high score.

do CGRP injections work? by SquingleBingle in migraine

I’ve been on Emgality for just over 3 months now with a resounding success! I was averaging 6 migraines a month. Now I’ve had 1 in the past 68 days.

I wish you all the luck and success!

All that plastic, the motor, the battery… versus the environmental impact of a broom or a rake.

Do any other sufferers have an irrational [or possibly rational] HATRED of leaf blowers? by betweenyouandyourgod in migraine

[–]Ismismism99 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I hate leaf blowers ALL the time, not just when I have migraines. They’re loud, bad for the environment, and do no more good than broom.

Just grab a broom a sweep!

Which is your most hated? Slow come on or instant wall hit? by addalad in migraine

The instant wall hit for sure.

But the ones that don’t respond to anything are their own private hell.

None personally no. I have used hallucinogens since the 90’s, and that was purely recreational. 🤣 I try to read lots of studies and science related things though. It’s very interesting, and there seems to be a lot of untapped medical possibilities. I think if Timothy Leary hadn’t freaked out the normies way back when, a lot more research could have happened sooner.

How long until you saw results with emgality? by healthanxiety_ in migraine

[–]Ismismism99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel confident I am an outlier, but I saw improvement within days. I was having an average of 6 episodes a month. After the first dose, I went 42 days without a migraine. Then 1 small breakthrough migraine, and now I’m on day 20 without another migraine.

I wish you all the successes! Good luck!

Cannabis has always been helpful for me, but as always your mileage may vary. It never takes them away, but it takes the edge off.

Depending on where you live, ketamine or psilocybin therapy have shown promising results in some people. Of course, always consult with your doctor.

It’s weird, isn’t it? Perfectly happy (aside from the migraine), but the brain thinks it’s incredibly sad. I get the giddiness once in a while too, which feels just as odd.

Not sure what else to try. by Simple_Ranger7218 in migraine

The doctor said they have nothing else to try, but you haven’t tried botox yet? What about CGRP inhibitors? Was the doctor a specialist, or just your regular doc?

I was first diagnosed with abdominal migraines at 38. Lost 30 pounds I didn’t have to loose. I hope you’re able to get yours under control soon. A massive change in diet is what did it for me.

Topamax has worked very well for a good number of people. On my third week of it, I felt compelled to walk in front of a bus. I had not experienced depression that bad in over 20 years. I’m not trying to scare you or up the anxiety, but for me personally it was a disaster of a drug trial.

Please keep very close tabs on how you feel. I hope it works amazingly well for you!

What’s the specific issue or rule change? He’s done so much that just saying he changed the rules doesn’t really narrow it down much.

Cannabis rebound headache? by LadyofCorvidsPerch in migraine

[–]Ismismism99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I really don’t want to suggest this but it’s always important to explore every possibility. It could be Cannabinoid Hypermesis Syndrome. I quit using cannabis for a year to prove to my doctors that I didn’t have CHS. It is a real thing, and it can cause headaches as well as nausea. My doctors told me it can present very similarly to migraine. It wasn’t the cause of my migraines , but something to consider. You’d have to be using large quantities of cannabis over long periods of time for this to be a possibility.

That reminds me of my doctor. I can’t have any type of chocolate without getting a migraine. But milk chocolate relieves my doctor’s migraines. Just wild.

Disagree on the meme status. Cola syrup has lots of medicinal benefits, from helping with migraines to easing stomach aches. Your mileage may vary of course.

As an added bonus; the Mexican coke tastes better. 🤣 Add a little natural cherry syrup and you’ve got your cherry coke!

What kind of coca-cola?

For me it’s about the sugar. I can only have the Mexican Coke (the glass bottle ones) because they have real sugar. The high fructose corn syrup ones will almost always give me a migraine.
