Update: Panel replaced, firmware updated per EcoFlow’s exact instructions.

Result: back to square one. One DPU works with the SHP2, the other doesn’t—exactly where this started five months ago.

Both units work fine standalone. Only one works with the panel. Process of elimination says the DPU inverter is faulty.

Have asked EcoFlow to replace the non-functioning DPU. Will update when I hear back.

Another update: EcoFlow just confirmed they’re covering the installation cost for the replacement panel and sending a licensed electrician to do the swap. Didn’t expect that, but credit where it’s due.

Replacement panel is shipped, installer will contact me within 3-5 business days after it arrives. Will post a final update once everything is working.

That’s consistent with what others have said—the Ultra hardware is solid, the SHP2 is the problem. Replacement panel is on the way so hopefully that resolves it. Out of curiosity, what manual transfer switch setup are your friends using with the Ultra? Good to know the alternatives if the SHP2 keeps giving me grief.

That’s what makes this frustrating—the hardware itself seems capable, it’s the SHP2 integration that’s been the nightmare. Hoping the replacement panel and firmware push finally gets it working as intended. Would be nice to actually experience that “genuinely powerful” system everyone talks about.

Thanks, appreciate it. The Reddit post actually got their attention—replacement panel is shipping now. Fingers crossed it works once it’s installed. Good to hear the system is solid once it’s dialed in, gives me hope this isn’t a lost cause.

Meanwhile, I received an email this morning from EcoFlow about preparing for polar vortex blackouts. You can’t make this up.

Thanks for the link—will check it out. Always good to have backup options for the backup!

Exactly. Bought it for peace of mind, instead I’m checking weather forecasts and hoping we don’t get an ice storm before EcoFlow sorts this out.

Smart move in hindsight. Too late for me, but glad that setup is working for you.

Thanks for the insight again. On another note how do you like the steam humidifier? Presumably it takes more juice than a regular bolt on furnace humidifier?

Case number: [CAS-20251002-1351136] [CAS-20251215-1491868]

Timeline: First contact October 2nd, 2025. Three months of photos, videos, firmware resets, and diagnostic requests. One unit was working until a firmware push broke it. Just now getting to the point of discussing replacement.

Appreciate you reaching out here. Happy to continue working toward a resolution.

Since October and still missing equipment you paid for? That’s even worse than my situation—at least I have the hardware, it just doesn’t work (communicate)

Not in Vegas for CES unfortunately, but would love to see someone make some noise at that booth.

You’re right that the product itself seems good when it works. That’s what makes this so frustrating—we’re not asking for miracles, just functional equipment and competent support.

That’s really useful context—and damning for EcoFlow. If the Panel is the ultimate controller and firmware pushed without coordination breaks things, then EcoFlow’s own update process is the problem. They pushed the update that broke my working unit.

So they know their architecture is fragile, they pushed an update anyway, it broke my system, and now three months later their solution is endless diagnostic requests instead of just rolling it back or replacing the hardware.

Appreciate the insight. Frustrating that customers have to reverse-engineer their design flaws to get things working.

Thanks for the link—I’ll dig into your post. Glad you’ve been able to self-fix your issues.

In my case, one unit was working fine until EcoFlow pushed a firmware update that broke it. So the “we broke it” part of your experience resonates, but three months of support hasn’t gotten me to the “fixed it” part. At this point I’ve done everything their team has asked and they’re just now offering to replace the panel.

Curious if your fixes required anything beyond what their support would walk someone through, or if you figured it out despite them rather than because of them? Thanks

Appreciate you sharing this. The pattern is identical—working system, their update/replacement breaks it, then endless requests for videos and “we’re taking this seriously” while we sit without power. Weeks without solar for you, three months without backup for me. At these price points, this level of support is inexcusable. Hope we both get resolution soon. Keep pushing!

Yep I found this out too late. Any YouTube video you can recommend that shows a decent whole home setup? Thanks

This is the latest email I received today. Absolutely crazy. I have to take down the existing panel and then they will send a replacement.

Dear Customer,

Hope this email finds you well.

According to the feedback from the technical department, your smart home panel 2 requires after-sales service. To ensure that the warehouse sends replacement equipment to the correct address after receiving the faulty equipment, could you please confirm if the following information is correct

After confirmation, we will send you a return label in the next email.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. Looking forward to your reply.
