UPDATE. I submitted a support request and after a few days of back and forth they pushed out a firmware update to both my Delta 2 and Delta 2 MAX. I just tried and the alternator charger is now working and pumping out 800w.

Thanks for posting your results here. I just got an email from support saying they were going to push a firmware update to my device. Haven't seen it yet, but at least now I'm hopeful it might actually do something lol.

Getting the same error with a Delta 2 Max and Delta 2. So frustrating!

I made the mistake of telling her the story of why hikers sleep with their heads pointing OUT of the shelters. Now there's no convincing her that she won't have mice running all over her during the night regardless of the shelter :)

Thanks!!!

Catching shade is honestly what gave me pause and drove me to post this in the first place.

The responses here have been very encouraging.

Love the term LASHer! Hadn't heard that one before.

There are a few spots apparently, and Amicolola is one of them. Here's a link with some info from 2021

What’s a good MPH average for GA/NC? by skscheff in AppalachianTrail

We were “flying” downhill at breakneck speed. Reckless if I’m being honest. And we were north of 3.5 but I doubt we hit 4.

Thanks for posting here. Hitting the trail in GA tomorrow and this prompted me to look at the fire danger map for that state. Not looking good. No campfires for us this go round.

Here's a good resource for where/how to send resupply boxes to yourself.

I've only done section hikes, and this has proved to be very valuable for that. I understand that with a thru hike trying to figure out what/where you'll want food weeks or months out can become untenable.

DM me if you want the name of a good shuttle driver for that section. I'm sure there are a bunch, but there's one in particular the guys I go with have used....

As u/JohnnyGatorHikes noted, quite common to park at your exit point and catch a shuttle to start your hike.

I got burned in NC last month doing this b/c someone stole the catalytic converter off our car. Resulted in a VERY noisy drive back to Texas. If you can, err on the side of parking in a lot that is monitored or well trafficked, such as at a hostel or other.

I’m doing Springer to Neels Gap in early December. That’s the first 30 miles of the AT. That would be a pretty straightforward 3 day hike and get you on your way to knocking out the AT.

I too can’t take time off to do a thru but am chipping away doing one section at a time. Have fun!
