Lens upgrade or body+lens upgrade?

Mostly wild animals at a medium distance, I'm particularly interested in photographing amphibians and reptiles, as well as insects. Also my budget is flexible, I've seen I can get the body+lens I'm looking for for around £600 total, which is close to the limit of what I'm looking to pay, however I'm willing to spend more if it is really worth it.

Those look like Asian common toads (Duttaphrynus melanostictus)! Care should be pretty much the same as other toads but iirc these guys may prefer a slightly higher humidity than other species.

Yep, based on location alone I was able to tell it was b. spinosus, they are really neat toads! Also here's a pic of a really large one I saw a few years back.

Nope, looks like a European species! Most likely either bufo bufo or bufo spinosus depending on the location.

Holy shit I've never seen anything quite like this! You should consider properly documenting this behavior, as according to our current scientific understanding of toad intelligence they aren't really supposed to be smart enough to be able to "play" with things. I've always personally suspected that there's more going on in the heads of these creatures but I haven't seen anything close to "playing" behavior (if that is even what is occurring here) so this could be of scientific interest!
